I received an offer from the Peppermill to attend this big event. Free rooms, and transportation to attend the event at Rancho San Rafael Park... VIP tent too. I started to look at the offer, and see on Sat. 9-11 the bus leaves at 4 AM for the event. 4 AM??? Who gets up that early while staying in a casino hotel? Well, I guess I do as an emergency pee trip from that last drink I had that I did not need. I supose the idea is to do an all nighter?
The ballon race must be exciting. Those daredevils get speeds of 25 MPH and more and no parachute! Who do you root for? Are there stars in this "sport"? I think I will root for the smurf ballon.
The more I think about it, I think I will watch the highlights on ESPN or read about it on page 36 in the newspaper. |

I guess the preparation would be to watch "Fear and loathing in Las Vegas", then try and mimic the way the Hunter S. Thompson character "covers" the big racing event! |
