We are coming to Reno this Friday 2/20/09 for our first visit. Has anyone stayed at Harrahs? If so, any information on the hotel, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I will be staying at Harrahs the same time you are. I chose it because of the price and location.
I found these reviews on Harrah's website. I was surprised that they would allow such mediocre reveiws on their own website. These reviews give a pretty fair piccture of what to expect.

We'll be there over the same time. We've only stayed once at Harrah's in Reno, it was last month and in the West tower. We're in the East tower this week.

Supposedly the West tower is better, if so, the East is going to be a problem. While the West was nice, it was the smallest hotel we've stayed in downtown.

We don't like the gambling conditions at Harrah's, so after getting some play on our cards, we walk across the street to Cal Neva. Same for the food.

I know this sounds negative, but honestly, the free rooms are all that take us there, and we're not sure it's worth it.

I hope to be there also. Will find me at Pep on Thurs and at one of the Eldo bars (Ringside or Stadium) on Fri nite. I'm the handsome one with the beautiful gals hanging on.

Let's hope you are right about the half.
