Still
intact, although old and weather beaten, the one-time entertainment
and social center of the Comstock stands as a guardian overlooking
the town and valley that once held up to 40,000 people. Many of
the colorful early residents enjoyed the talented stars that graced
the stage: Maude Adams, Edwin Booth, Buffalo Bill Cody and Lillie
Langtry were among the many.
