The "Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West," the Reno Rodeo is a 10-day event. The Reno Rodeo is a PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) sanctioned sporting event. Reno Rodeo is a non-profit organization made up over 400 volunteers. Over 140,000 fans will be in attendance for the 4th richest PRCA tour rodeo. The event impacts the Reno/Sparks area economy with $42 million going to hotels, casinos, restaurants and retail. The Reno Rodeo has been nationally televised on CBS Sports, Fox Sports Net, Versus, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN Classic.

Great Basin Brewing Company will be serving up some locally brewed beers for adults to enjoy. Local roller derby team, the Battle Born Derby Demons, will be lending a big helping hand as well. This festival, as part of Artown, is free and open to the public, with a suggested $5 donation upon entry.

From sagebrush and sand dunes to wildflowers and wetlands, Nevada is home to amazing landscapes. More than 20 prominent regional artists will share their visions of the state in a special art show and sale at the Wilbur D. May Museum. Explore vibrant scenes from the Silver State in oil, acrylic, and mixed media pieces. Proceeds from the three-day event benefit the Nevada Land Trust, a non-profit dedicated to the conservation of our state’s open spaces and special places.

Artists will open the exhibit with special plein air sessions just for kids. Sessions will be held on Friday, July 19 at 10:00 am and Noon. Kids age 5 and up are invited to try their hand at landscape painting in the park. Supplies will be provided, but reservations are required. Call (775) 851-5180 to sign up.

Located within Rancho San Rafael Regional Park, the Wilbur D. May Center is managed by the Washoe County Community Services Department and continues to receive generous support from the Wilbur May Foundation.

From November to June, participants were invited to hosted events at various Nevada Land Trust project sites. Now you can experience these wonderful places through the eyes of Nevada’s artists. Support Nevada land conservation and enjoy Nevada’s outback at the Wilbur D. May Museum, Rancho San Rafael Regional Park. The show is open July 20, 10am-4pm and July 21, noon-3pm. The Great Reno Balloon Race is the world’s largest FREE hot-air ballooning event. The event has floated into the hearts and minds of Reno’s visitors and locals for 31 years. 15th Annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

The 15th Annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure will return to the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino. The Northern Nevada Affiliate has invested approximately $3,400,000 in local breast health and breast cancer awareness projects in 10 counties in Northern Nevada. Grand Sierra is a proud sponsor. Seventy-five percent of net proceeds generated by the Komen Northern Nevada Affiliate are granted to lifesaving local breast cancer programs. The remaining 25 percent goes to Komen-funded groundbeaking research to find the cure.

This year's Race for the Cure will be held on Sunday, October 6. Registration and events begin at 7:00 a.m., 5K timed run will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the 1-mile fitness walk will begin at 9:15 a.m. For more information on the race, to register your team, or to donate to the cause visit http://www.komennorthnv.org/.
