Auction Information
Our annual Auction is always held in the month of March. It is RAAVE's 2nd largest fundraiser. The monies raised go towards funding excellent speakers like Mattie Sue Athan, Mark Bittner and Liz Wilson. It is so great to be able to speak one on one with these guests and ask a questions and hear stories and advice they have for enriching our bird's lives.
Auction items are gathered throughout the year from anyone who cares to donate their clean, useable goods. In the past we have had new and used cages from finch to macaw size and perches and playstands too. And of course the auction is not limited to bird accessories. Household things like pot and pans, home decor and items for outside in your garden have been auctioned off. We have even had young birds like a lovebird and cockatiel auctioned to a loving home.
Auctioneer Jeanne Cassinat has stepped up and volunteered her services in the past several years. In other events she can appear as Cassie the Clown, so a little of that magic can come out in the auction and she is able to bring a bit of laughter and urges everybody to Bid Often and Bid High!!
All items donated to RAAVE are tax deductible since we are a non-profit organization. For items valued over $300.00 we will be happy to provide a letter describing your donation to the IRS.
