John, Attack Parrots, Filet Mignon, and Australian Lobster Tails.
How does one choose between these?
Well, I couldn't choose, so I opted for THE LOT of them.

I tried to sneak in and out of town quietly without reporting. Then John tells me he reported to the board. Hello! I couldn't find the thread!

Anyway, a very pleasant short trip with only a little new to report.

First we discovered a great 7 day per week special at the Sands. At the new place near registration (forget the name) that replaced the lousy Tony Romas.
A very excellent filet mignon dinner with ravioli for $9.95 per.
Enjoyed that TWICE.

Then the keeper of the Attack Parrots treated us to Lobster dinners two nights running at the Pep Steak House. Yummy. Delicious food exceeded only by the dinner companions. Our waitress was a bit more "standoffish" with our escorts in attendance. She barely groped John during the evening. She was completely restrained with me.

A few new Williams machines at the Pep. The screen was a bit like Hex 2 without real lines. It had a rotating wild - very different.

I got nailed twice within 8 hours by Security for having an expired parking tag on level 3. The third time, they threaten to tow. Both warnings were overnight. Hello!! Who comes to their car between midnight and 8 am?

A sign in VIP lounge now states that EVEN gold card members can use the lounge if they are staying in a COMPED room.
No pastries this time but decent drinks. Looks to me like people are abusing this benefit.
They eliminated the Grey Goose Vodka because of abuse: so I was told.

Pep seemed busier than most of the other places.

Oh yes, I thought I received a Domino's Pizza offer while playing at the Ringside Bar in the Eldo. Someone tossed a bar napkin over my shoulder, said good luck and headed out the street door.
I picked up the napkin and it announced: "Hot and Ready".
Call Veronica (or some such name) and followed with a phone number.
since I don't like pizza, I declined to follow-up.

The Eldo should police this and not let food competitors take away their restaurant business.

Only my second trip in years without darkening the doors of the Siena.

Think I mentioned in an earlier reply. Though they completed this phase of the Eldo buffet remodel, it is still way too small. One now dines on the OTHER side of the temporary wall. Ridiculous situation and not worth the wait.

Anyone see the new Eldo show, Aphelion? Curious, may go later.

Hey, Jerry, thanks for the ride in Reno.

You broke me up with the "Pizza Ad".... That's a HOOT!!!
Why do you suppose she picked you out of the crowd?

I tried one of those new Williams machines you mentioned, called Glitz. Kinda fun. A couple of the others were too. I hated the looks of the Dean Martin one but a lady beside me hit it big.

Right on with the Sands food. very good. They also have a decent happy hour in that restaurant.

As for Armenian Attack Parrots with Lobster Claws: I avoid them as you and John avoid me.
But I'll still read both your posts with great interest and anticipation.

I may sneak in to the Tuesday Pep Happy Hour sometime just to see if I can pick you "Two Rogues" out of the crowd.
I will then quietly, observe and get educated.
If I do, I'll write it up here as a Trip Report.

Stoneman:

You may make light of the Brazilian Fighting Cockatoos, but know this: they exist and are not to be messed with. Click here for proof. Even MORE proof.

If you ever met Jerry in person, you'd understand why the pizza lady picked him out of the crowd. I've been tempted to hit on him a few times myself.

And Stoneman, we're not avoiding you (at least Jerry isn't). You're invited to join us at the FSHH anytime we're there. And we're easy to find. Thanks to Jerry's magnetic personality, our table is normally surrounded by cute young ladies. Side note: also due to his magnetic personality, Jerry is usually covered with nails, staples, anvils, corkscrews and doorknobs.

Here in my neck of the woods, a homeowner just discovered that he unknowingly possessed a rare lizard.
With professional help it was finally captured. SIX FEET LONG... He thought he had an alligator in his yard.

Deadly claws, fierce teeth, and a dangerous tail to whip about.
Very aggressive beast. I can't imagine suddenly discovering such a thing in one's yard.
When they tried to pull it out from under the house, it clung to the foundation and was moving it.
Very scary indeed. I'll take a cockatoo anyday over this creature.

OTOH, there would not be a problem with stray cats in this neighborhood.

Good report, Jerry. Made me feel as if I were right there with you and JohnBoy, the walking/talking/Cro-Magnon Parrot Master.
I can almost taste that Armageddon Lobster.

I NEED A RENO FIX...

Hate to steal your thunder but this was too good to pass up.

Any one else have a display bat out there?

And, JOHN, this is my version of what I think a Brazilian Fighting Cockatoo should look like.

Speaking of Brazilians. When Pres. Bush heard that three Brazilian soldiers had just been ambushed and killed, he hung his head and commiserated for a bit. Then looked up to his advisor and asked:
"That's really tragic. How many is a Brazillian anyway?"

Any self-respecting hooker would stop at the door without entering John's room -- even if PREPAID.

Imagine having a spooky looking guy like that opening the door, cockatoo on each shoulder, smiling and asking you in!!!
Scary thought!!!!

But, OTOH, Ryder, would you like MY room number?

Actually the lobster dinners are more expensive than the 4th street hookers. And the side effects are less deleterious to one's health.

OTOH, it could be that John does not have the wherewithall to "comp" the hookers.

Looking forward to your TR, Ryder, and very most especially the new pics you will likely post. Have a great, fun trip to the "biggest little".

Nope, Jerry, she's coming with me. If anybody wants to start a poll on this being perhaps the most tasteless comment of the year, please remember I can vote as often as I like !

I will never dignify such tasteless comments by responding.

(Does "no response" count?)

And I won't dignify your "lack of a response" response with a response.

I have a feeling we'll soon be hearing from Stan on this.

Responsibility is my name and Responsibility is my game.

I am currently reviewing this thread to determine whether the general tenor accurately reflects the true reflective mood of the average typical active and inquisitive user of this otherwise most fantastic and elliptical biggest little board for the effusiveness of either begrudging or likewise infuriating the predatory nature of elusiveness in the passivity of intermittent contributors.

With at least a baker's dozen of "U"s in the above sentence, this discussion is getting UUUUUUUUUUUUUUGLY!!

I'll take it under advisement and render my decision forthwith OR NOT!!!
