At least the beginning of the Hawkster's latest (hopefully monthly) exotic trip report.

First, I am warm all over from studying Alison's avatar and receiving her greetings through John (tho not the best messenger). Twould have been better in person. Twisted Evil

Reno Lady: You asked about reports on Shooters John!! Now that is slightly eccentric as a report study. No Irish Car Bombs, no drunk fights on the sidewalk. In fact, John asked me to meet him there for breakfast. Though I would have loved to have John "pop for" breakfast, I chose to buy the breakfast in order to eat at the Eldo Buffet. Still pretty good and still have the original size. I wonder what they are doing behind that fake wall. Sadly, they can only do the omelets in oil (makes them greasy) and have no pan spray. Great service - John said it was too much. He wanted to talk about Lisandra and the wait staff kept interrupting offering too too much.

The dining otherwise was magnificent. The Lobster dinner at the Steakhouse in Alison's Castle was superb. I tried to marry off LISANDRA to John but John resisted. Seems he had a bad experience about 25 years ago. Lisandra kept looking at me and sending me some strange vibes that I was unable to interpret. She certainly has lovely brown eyes, though.

Slots were a little tight for us that night. I apologize to John for my inability to generate the usual Royal Flush for him in my presence. He now thinks I am a failure since he had one the lasst two previous evenings we spent together. I haven't had one in my last 50-100 playing sessions ov er much more than a year. But it does make me feel good to watch John get his. Shoot, if helping John to a thousand buck Royal is the price I have to pay for a great Lobster Dinner, well : --- HEY, I am a cheap date. In fact, I am a FREE date for Alison and Lisandra.

BC Dave, I feel for you, bro. Sorry you have to suffer while we have fun.

Erin, those Florence suites look fantastic. Congrats on scoring that.
If you need a roommate, I'll cancel my other plans. Just PM me cause I don't want John to know about this. Wink
Alison knows about this. John tried very hard to see the private pics that she sent to Jerry.

OK, back to the current TR. Gambling went OK. I scored a few comps, added a few points to maintain my slot card points and hopefully continue my offers. BTW, I have NO OFFERS as yet for July. This is highly unusual.
I cleared all my expenses and a couple extra bucks. So a nice trip!!!

The Siena still looks shaky. even the staff is worried. They continue to market to local low-rollers. Slot players complain because they can't get a free beer for a one-cent bet. NO, sorry, guy, the Siena now requires one to bet at least a dime to order a free beer --- No tip of course -- these are bums.
I had the Huevos rancheros for breakfast one morning. Tasted pretty good but I didn't feel well all day. Connection?? not sure??

Fitz was still the same, depressing, hard to play there. No drink and no free hot dog and no entertainment during my short time there.

Eldo, I still like. The Tivoli which was where I ate most meals has seriously downgraded the Mexican combo. DON'T BUY IT!!!!
There is no description for how bad the Chili Rellenos are. Abominable -- there I tried but that's still inadequate. They replaced the fantastic Tamales with these. If you go there, fill out a complaint slip, please.
They also downgraded the Chinese food and eliminated the daily Clam Chowder.

I hit a few penny machines. I think it was M2B that suggested the Big Ben. I found it last time and hit the (small ) jackpot for $55. This trip I hit in again the first time I played for $77. Took the money and ran. I tried to play it another night for 6-8 hours, and the same lady NEVER LEFT IT>>>
Initially as I strolled by, the jackpot was $70 and later was over a hundred. By morning it was back to $50;; so I guess she must have stayed until she hit it. Wonder how much it cost her to do so. Smile

I also hit Noah's Ark and Game of Dragons II plus another wrap-around reel slot from Williams for nice pays. A couple were well over $100.

Stayed at Siena. Rooms and service still very nice. My best VP score was here for Four Aces for $500.
One service example: A waitress came and gave me the obligatory bear hug, chatted, and said she'd see me later. She was not even serving my area. A few minutes later, she brought me a delicious Drambuie on the Rocks. No discussion, no order, etc' Very thoughtful!!

Weather was insufferable. The California fires destroyed the air and it was most difficult to breath out of doors. Ugly sky.
No earthquakes noticed though.

More later if anything comes to me. Enjoy my friends.

Good stuff, Hawk - thanks for keeping us in the loop!

Casino air is probably looking pretty good these days, as being outside is now the equivalent of smoking a Chesterfield King all day.

Glad you had fun; that's the way it's supposed to be.

Bart, at the currency exchange, with the foreign coins he got from Patty and Selma: "Americanize this, my good man!"

Clerk: "Okay!" (a few pennies tumble out of the change machine)

Bart: "Three cents?!"

Clerk: "Let the good times roll!"

(Don't know what made me think of that bit of Simpsons trivia, but it seems somehow apropos to Reno...)

Breakfast at Shooters, hmm....what would that entail? Red beer and diving for hard boiled eggs in a pickle jar? Bloody Mary's with extra celery? ElDo was a good choice sounds like.

Fitz sounds like it's grinding along, no reason to rush in there. In fact, coming home from Vegas next week finds us a night in Reno. My choices were a free room at Harrah's, a $9.99 one at Cal Neva, free room at the Fitz, or an anybody's offer at Circus for $30. We chose the $30 room at Circus. We don't know how tired we'll be coming back and don't want to feel obligated to dazzle them with our play, when maybe all we'll want is a couple beers and $20 bucks through a brainless penny machine.

There's a chicken wing festival going on then I hear...a chicken wing festival? I want a souvenir, maybe a laminated chicken wing to hang from my rear view?

Funny comments, RL. You belong on this board.
More like "diving to avoid a flying barstool or errant Bowie Knife". Surprised
And furthermore: Don't drink the RED beer there. Rolling Eyes

Yes, Eldo was a better choice. Since we were "over-serviced" there, we left at least 35 coins of various denominations as a tip. Probably still trying to collect them all from the table. I think John hid most of them under the salt shakers and condomums (Is that what they call the sauces?)

I believe they're called, "condominiums". Although the Hawk didn't bring me a royal, he did manage to arrange 3 4OAKs at the Eldo on Wednesday morning. He also bought breakfast and left about 5 pounds of coins for a tip. It was good seeing you again, Hawk. I think we should arrange a get together with Jerry and the girls.

Great report, Hawk.
I'd like to meet up with you. Your report made me feel like I was right there with you in Reno.
John, I thought they were called, "carborundums".

That's pretty sad right there. I hear the air is bad all over CA, NV, and OR. Predictions are that it will get worse all summer.

My lungs are just now recovering from too many Chesterfield Kings and the like. Maybe I will forego Reno for awhile.

No, it's plural so I think the correct form is "condominia."

Oh, and the air has cleared up pretty good. I drove through Wingfield Park today and the place was packed. I can't imagine what it's going to be like for the Fourth, but we are planning on catching the Red Elvises concert Friday evening.

Thanks for the report Hawk. I told John to give you a "special" message for me. I hope he delivered that properly. Wink

As for the private pis, those striclty are reserved for Jerry's eyes only. Sorry but i cannot budge on that. Jerry would be very very sad!

It's part of Reno News & Review's "Rollin' on the River" concert series, at Wingfield Park (Arlington Ave. at the river). There's no charge. It starts at 5:30 but there's usually a warmup band that plays for 45 minutes or so. Here's a bit more information:

"As for the private pis, those strictly are reserved for Jerry's eyes only".

Thank you, Alison, for remaining true to our relationship. I, too, am respecting that. John and Hawk: Just give it up and quit asking to see the pics. There is no deception in the relationship between A & J. Mutual respect and trust. so continue to eat your hearts out.

"No, it's plural so I think the correct form is "condominia."
Are you sure that's not "Condoleeza" when it's plural??

Red Elvises sound great. I'd love to check that out but, alas, I am stuck here in the Beaver State. I went to a great outdoor concert tonight but we had a lousy band.

The plural would be "Condementia", which is also a required illness for posting on this board.

Add that to your pipe, and continuing smoking it.
