Hi All,

I've just finished getting caught up reading the latest posts and everyone's trip reports....it's good to be back! I've been away for awhile and have missed you all.

I had planned a trip to Reno back in May, was supposed to take my Mom for Mother's Day and do the slot tourney at the Fitz, had reserved a mini suite, etc. But, she got sick and then needed surgery so we had to postpone until another time (had her at my place so I could take care of her during her recovery).

I'm happy to say that she's doing so much better and we'll be heading for Reno on Monday She's really looking forward to this trip (has been packed for a week...lol ) and I'm going to spoil her....she deserves it. Will be playing in the slot tourney, it will have a 50's theme so am sure we'll hear some great oldies but goodies music.

How has the weather been in Reno? Hope its not too hot. Also, are there any surprises downtown...any roads blocked off or detours that I should know about ahead of time?

Anyway, I wanted to say hello to all of you and say thank you for all the
wonderful trip reports, I really enjoyed reading them! I hope all of you are having a great summer and to those who are heading to Reno....I wish you good luck and hope you come back with lots more $$$ than you went with!

Nice to hear from you! You have been missed.

When i was in Reno last week, it was in the 100's. HOT!! I gues it was some of the hottest temps when we were there. That what the news was saying anyways.

Sorry to hear about your mother. Glad to hear you both will be heading to reno monday and that she is doing better.

Peb, also sorry to hear your mom wasn't well, but glad to hear she is better!

Good luck on the trip and tournament, although I can assure you that if your goal is to hear '50's music in a casino, all you need to do is stay at the Atlantis - it seems that they play little else!

I like that era too, although the last time I stayed there on a business trip was with my boss at the time, who said, after the second night, "I'm sure tired of hearing '50's music."

PEB, glad to see you back as well, and best of luck on your upcoming trip. Glad to hear your mother is better. I was in Reno 2 weeks ago and fortunately I think I came in between the hot spells, it was only lower-mid 90's. Hope your slot tournament is successful, and be sure to post a trip report when you get back.

Thanks All!

The car is washed & waxed, full of gas and ready for the trip. Just finsished packing my suitcase and charged up the batteries for the camera, we're all set! We're leaving at 6 am, can't wait to get going. We'll be stopping along Hwy 88 for a picnic along the way.

Will write a trip report as soon as I can when we get back. John....I'll try my best to win back some of your money and Alison's too

Will also do my best to get lots of "blue 7's" during the slot tourney.
