I have seen a few post that state if you sign up for a new players card at certain properties your first hour of play includes a certain dollar amount that the casino will cover if you lose.
How does this work?
What properties are doing this?
Cheers
Harvey

I know of only two in Reno. The Pep covers up to $100 in losses and has been tested and proven true by JD and KrAut. Whatever happened to her?

The other is Cal-Neva, which claims to cover up to $200 in losses or match your wins up to $200, if they still offer it. I saw a banner on the building advertising the promotion, but their website makes no mention of it.

In any event, if you lose at the Peppermill or Harrah's, Alison just may reimburse you.

hahah john!!

Yes those are the only two that i am aware of.

I actually am waiting for an e-mail back from the Cal Neva. They don't show that promotion on their website so i am curious if they no longer offer it.

At the Pep, make sure to cash out when you are ahead, then insert more money if you want to keep playing that machine. Otehrwise you get screwed when you go to redem your free play. Thats what happened to my friend last summer. I know i mentioned this already, but just making sure you do that ok?

Well, it's good to know at least somebody is doing it and it works...I saw that offer at the Pep but unfortunately signed up for a Passport card way before that promotion started. Just be sure to read all the rules and regulations carefully, and take all tips from Alison, she is the Peppermill expert! On my last trip to the Pep, I saw alot of people complaining that the promotion was misleading, while others thought that they were just getting $100 regardless, while still others were losing their free play by not doing it right, as Alison mentioned. I was just trying to figure out a way to act like I was a new player (because free play is free play!) but couldn't figure anything out...

yeah it is kinda confusing. I too signed up for my card way before the promo started. I only learned about the issues with it on my last trip when i was there and my friends got confused by it as well. Basically if you win money on a machine, you need to cash it out, other wise if you even loose some out of that money your up, your not really loosing becasue it was winnings.
