With a reservation for 4 nights May 26-30 we knew were going to have too much fun. And we did. Arrived Saturday, 12:00 noon. Limo was waiting. Limo was a contract limo and you could tell the difference in the lack of service we usually receive from the Peppermill. The limo was HOT! Hot air was blowing full blast until we arrived at the entrance of the PEP. Not cool!
Saw our host Maggie, she's great, 4 nights comped. Check in immediate. An anniversary basket was in our room. What a nice surprise. Champagne and asssorted goodies.

Played a lot of video poker at the cube bar. Bet on Jazz/Spurs (lost that one). Alot of new slots.

No large multi Wheel of Fortune or Monopoly group slots. Nickel heaven would be a good place to put those in.

Construction crews working around the clock. Noise was at a minimum. Word is the construction is on schedule for grand opening in Dec.

We did a notice a BIG change in the Peppermill. A huge amount of KIDS!
I guess the arcade is drawing families in. Not in the casino but they left a trail as they were going to restaurants. The pool was full of kids. Not that I mind kids, just not used to it at the Pep.

Gary and I got pretty wasted one night. We were working back to our room, when I decided to hit $1 slots by the Players Information booth. Played a double times slot. Hit 7x5x2. All said and done I cashed out $1100.00. WEeeeeeeeeeeeeeee - will keep us playing for the next 2 days. Gary hit for over $500 on another. Next day he played the machine again and immediately hit for $200.+ We are not big rollers but play consistently, which I guess, adds up the comp dollars.

Gary had some good luck with double bonus poker. Alot of 5 of a kind.
He also got into the slots tournament and won $50. They had adjusted the payouts which originally would have been $100.

Meals. Ateat the coffee shop a number of times, can't go wrong. Sports Deli - Wow! Sandwiches are tremendous - And the dessert counter is remarkable.
Steak House one night - Need I say more. Great Filet

We were to leave Wed. May 30 - Storms in Dallas, backed us up over 2 hrs., We would have missed our connection to Raleigh which was the last flight out the day. Hmmmmmmm - get to Dallas and sleep in a chair or stay another night in Reno and fly out the next morning.

The bartenders just laughed when we were at the cube bar 90 minutes after we said our good byes.

Great Stay - Going back for Labor Day Holiday.

Thanks for writing your report. I enjoyed reading it. Its getting me even more excited for my upcoming trip tp the Pep.

So lots of kids there? Yeah i don't recall many there in the past. I am sure now with that new arcade, they will be drawing in alot more kids there.

So i was confused on the limo situation. Was this the Peppermills limo or another companies limo??

thanks for the trip report, and congratulations on your wins! The delayed/cancelled flights are always the best part (especially when you can keep on playing...)

Sharon,
Great trip report. Glad you guys had so much fun and did so well. So did you venture into downtown at all?
Thanks for taking the time to post a report.

Allison - It was a limo service contracted by the Pep. They were hosting a large Asian event over the weekend that called for additional limos.

Dave - Venture downtown? We didn't leave the Pep property until we went to the airport on Wed. Living in North Carolina, when we get the opportunity to gamble that is our mission. We have one Indian casino here 6 hrs away. Naw - we don't bother. Next closest is West Virginia that is run by State Government, like the local lotteries, naw - paybacks less than 80%. We save and travel to Reno 3-4 times a year for nothing but gambling. When we travel to see family and friends out of state (Kansas City and Detroit areas) we stop at another casino (Harrah's MGM, Greekktown, Ameristar) for an afternoon or evening.

We were going to go to Atlantis to see the Guess Who on Saturday night, but Burton Cummings wasn't with the band. No point in going if he wasn't going to be there. That's like going to hear Eric Clapton's group without Eric Clapton. in my humble opinion.

Or like seeing Rush without Neil Peart, or Pink Floyd without Syd Barret, or the Stray Cats without Brian Setzer, or the Brian Setzer Orchestra without Brian Setzer.

I feel your pain; it's a drag to see a fraction of an act.

"Yes, John enjoys having someone to "Pat"."

John, I understood this to be a "Pat-tonic" relationship. Oh-oh. Now I've encouraged Stan again.

Boy, the floodgates must be open for business - Jerry, I think you just took one of my strikes, and applied it to yourself!

This reminds me of a fine wine whose name I can't recall, but it's one of those rare ones - and it's only available at the most remote locations, meaning it's a long way to tipple a rarity!

That ought to earn my strike back...

John, how did this guy get back on the board?
Actually, Stan that is funny (as always). Good to hear from you.

I have not had computer access for weeks. Today I am on the library computer in Laughlin, NV. Sadly, we have no libraries in southern Oregon any more.
I gotta say that the ales in the boiler Room at the colo Belle are excellent.
