Slow board, and I ain't talkin' 'bout no snowboard.
So anyway, the "Bottom Line" publication, which constantly sends out little mini-newsletters in an attempt to solicit subscriptions, had some "Hotel Tips" recently, some of which seemed plausible, among them:

-Hotels routinely have a few rooms that are technically "Out of order", even though the problem in the room may not be so severe as to prevent a comfortable night's sleep - if you're in a pinch, and they're telling you that they're "Sold Out", it *may* be worth saying you're willing to take a room which is due for repairs - obviously, this is a last-ditch effort, but it may help those like Floridagambler, who was recently shut out of the Pep due to its being full.
Anyway, it might be worth a shot, if you ever find yourself stranded.
