We arrive on Wednesday at 3:00 pm and checked into the Sands. No lines and easy check in. Room was big but old and dirty. The Sands was by far the cheapest of the downtown hotels so that is why we landed there. The staff were helpful but we did most of our gaming on the strip. Watched the NCAA tourney games at the Cal Neva. Dont know how we missed you Dave we were front row on the opposite side of the Sports Deli on day one and right in the little area next to the deli on day two of the tourney and I had a big Alabama sweatshirt on. Bama won their first game on Thursday. Won quite a bit on the game using money lines/straight bets mostly but did hit one nice parlay. Sorry but had Montana on the money line to beat Nevada. Had a nice Prime Rib Dinner at the Cal Neva for if i remember correctly 9 bucks. Had some nice luck on the quarter progessive slots right outside the Cal Neva sportsbook. Friday night I hit it big at the Cal Neva second floor Black Jack. Nice dealers and earned comps for dinner the next day plus they tried to get me to switch to their rooms for the rest of my visit. Enjoyed biscuits and gravy at the Nugget and also an Awful Awful. I mostly watch the games with some black jack and slots mixed in. Played some 3 card poker at the Sands and lost a couple hundred. Love the Cal Neva Sportsbook- i end up with more free drink coupons than i could use and their is a lot of knowledgable March Madness fans in there. The sports deli is cheap but you pay for it later.
I did ok gambling overall thanks to my one big night at the Cal Neva with blackjack - came away plus $600.00 not counting my winnings on the NCAA games. I paid $400 for my hotel/air and brought $900.00 spending money and i came home with a little ove a grand. So i did not win but ate alot, drank way to much, and gambled a ton. I was happy as i put a lot of dollars in progessive slots trying to come home a big winner. Brought home some futures on football for the Super bowl - Seahawks from the NFC and Jacksonville from the AFC- Garbage now. Had some fun at the Nugget on the strip- if you ask for your a double in a bucket and tip you get some amazing drinks and repeat service! I usually hit enough on the quarter slots there to move my buzz to another level and pocket a few bucks. Had a fun night at the Brews Brothers at the El Dorado- had some excellent micro brews and enjoyed the dancing and the ladies! The El Dorado is a nice place.
Overal we had an amazing time and saw quite a few familiar faces at the Cal Neva Sportsbook for the 1st two rounds of the NCAA basketball tournament. It is amazing how many people come year after year for the tourney. This year will be my 5th straight i believe and there are people there that have been coming for 15 years!
Hope to see Dave this year and some of the other regulars who post also!

I have not booked yet due to prices so if anyone has a voucher or coupon they cannot use i will be arriving on March 15th and leaving the 19th and will spend plenty of $$'s.

Ben

Ben great report. Man you got a memory! Sounds like fun. I see Bama lost a tough one today. WSU choked vs. Oregon. Sad I hope you guys end up going to Reno rather than Vegas. Reno or Vegas for March Madness is a lot like that Ellen O. from the Reno hotel Ind. - A NO BRAINER! We have 7 going down this year. I don't think we will be able to root the Huskies on this time but I think we ought to be able to find someone to root for! :
