Leaving Medford at 6pm on Friday the 26th...gonna drive all night to Bullhead City (kids will be sleeping), plan to visit the casinos in Laughlin just across the river.

2nd leg of the trip....leaving bullhead city, driving to the Grand Canyon, gonna jump out see the hole, jump back in the car and drive to Kingman.

3rd leg of the trip....Leave Kingman, drive over Hoover Dam, stopping for the tour.....then on to Vegas for 2 nights at the Circus Circus, gonna hit the outlet malls for a little back to school shopping while we're there.

4th leg of the trip....Drive to my favorite little town in the whole wide world....RENO!!!!! Staying at the Fitz for 4 nights....gonna hit the Rib Cookoff with our cousins from Susanville. I must say the Rib Cookoff is GREAT if you've never been, gotta make it a top priority if your ever in town over Labor Day weekend. Taking the girls to the water park in Sparks. Gonna visit the Peppermill to sign up for their players club, we are thinking we need a new place to stay besides the fitz.

Looking forward to the trip....which is the part I must be nuts about.

Kevin
We left Medford OR at 5:30 pm on Friday August 26th...around 2:00 am, had to stop along I-5 to help some crazy driver who was driving eratically and rolled their car off of the freeway, that took about 1/2 hour....continued on down the road and drove the rest of the night to Bullhead City, AZ, arriving at 9:30 am.....checked into the motel early (don't ever stay at the Best Western in Bullhead City....What a dump!) While waiting for my wife's friend to arrive from Phoenix, my wife went shopping and since it was so hot that early in the morning, I decided I needed to drink a few beers to help me stay awake. Wife's friend finally got there around 1:30 in the afternoon, and we headed over to the Riverside Inn....had to take the ferry across the river of course. Lost our butt's in Laughlin, but had a lot of fun doing it. Went back to the motel, I fell asleep and my wife and kids went to the pool. Sunday the 28th....We got up and started on down the road for the Grand Canyon. Stopped and watched the IMAX movie, it was worth seeing....and then went onto the REAL Thing. It was a beautiful sight, even though it was very hot, approximately 110 degrees. We took lots of pictures. Jumped in the car and headed for Kingman where we stayed the night. Left Kingman on the 29th at about 11:30 for Vegas......stopped at Hoover dam, took the tour, took pictures, and saw the plaque where the dam mascout was buried (I told the girls about how the dog got run over by a truck, so this was the main attraction for them. Got to Vegas about 4:00, tried to check in to Circus Circus, and they said it would be 1 1/2 hours to get through the line......we decided that we would find a place to feed the girls and get me some more beer.....This was a much needed item after having to deal with the traffic, WHAT A MESS!!! Went back to Circus Circus, checked in...this time it only took 45 minutes. Finally got to the room after being given the wrong directions three different times. I was not impressed with Circus Circus, I have never seen a hotel use duct tape to hold down the carpet in the hallways and the rooms, plus they had no coffee makers in the rooms, that's REALLY bad!! Tried to talk my wife into just blowin the joint and heading for Reno, but....she said NO, she needed to go shopping at the Outlet Stores for school clothes. We made it to the Outlet stores, wife spent lots of money, but not as much as I thought she would. After the girls were all shopped out, we headed for the Adventure Dome at Circus Circus. We all had a blast!! We did not take any walks on the strip, I don't understand why all the Porno stuff had to be thrown all over the sidewalks and shoved in our faces. The city should really do something about it and take control of the situation. It was definently not a place to take children out for a nice stroll along the strip. We will never make that mistake again. Kevin Stay tuned for Part 2: We finally head to Reno
