Left Eugene, OR at 6:00am. Drove I-5 to Mt. Shasta, then through Susanville and into Reno. One stop for breakfast at Heaven On Earth Restaurant in Southern Oregon and one stop in Susanville for gas. Arrived at the Peppermill at exactly 2PM.

3 free nights (off my comp account, which really sucks!!) at the Pepp. Was playing VP by 3PM. Spent about 10 hours over the course of 3 days chasing the Deuces nickel 10-coin progressive. Never hit the Royal or Deuces the whole time. Mrs. Duckman hit Deuces 4 times to keep us afloat on this game.

Played a lot of live poker during our stay. Most of the time played 2-4 limit at the Pepp. Hit a 4oak K's for a nice $181 bonus at 3am one morning. Also played at the Sands in their daily 11am mini- NLHE tourney, only a $15 buy-in. Took 3rd place twice (only top 2 places paid Surprised ) and 1st place once for $135.

Spent one afternoon playing VP at Atlantis in the non-smoking skybridge. Playing triple-play .25 9/6 JOB when I hit my 2nd ever Royal Flush ever!!!!! Took a picture with my cellphone cam to comemerate this milestone (I've been playing VP seriously for 3 years). Mrs. Duckman hit her first ever Royal a few minutes before me. All-in-all our best trip ever for winning. We also played the free slot tourney at Atlantis and my lovely bride won $50 in Freeplay. I won squat-diddly.

Spent about 20 minutes playing Craps at Siena and walked away up $160. Wife and I both played in the Siena BJ tournament, but did lousy. We ate at the cafe at the Siena (Contrada?), had an excellent lunch, paid for with comps.

Mrs. DuckMan loves Bingo at the Sands. She played several sessions one day but only won once for $75. I played BJ while waiting for the Bingo Queen. Had a lousy session and ended down $90, but I did get a comp for two to Mel's Diner where I enjoyed the delicious Mel's Burger with an old-fashioned chocolate shake, Mmmmm, Mel's.

Left Reno Friday 4/6 at 2pm. Met my folks in Redding, CA for Dinner and arrived in Ashland, OR about 10PM where we spent the night (had to pay for the room at the La Quinta Inn Crying or Very sad ). Saturday we stopped at 7 Feathers on the way home. Wife played Bingo, I played 3-6 limit Poker. We both lost (we always lose at 7 Feathers!!!) but at least we got a comped meal in the coffee shop. Arrived home in Eugene by 6PM.

All-in-all, a great and profitable trip. Came home up about $1300, never paid for a meal or room in Reno and had a great drive (our first driving trip to Reno). Our luck continued on the way home as I was stopped by the friendly California Hwy. Patrol. After being told I was travelling 76mph in a 65 zone I was given a "warning" and told to slow down. Dodged a bullet there! I was more careful with my speed selection after that. Weather was clear all the way there and most of the way back.

Thanks for reading and for all the help and advice on the driving routes! This is a great message board, thank you John for putting it together.

I love Reno!!!!!

Just curious how long it took them to pay you.

Even with under $ 1,200, some casinos pay off in five minutes. Harrah's didn't even require a hand pay for $ 1,000. Cal Neva took 30 minutes to pay off $ 200 once.

No hand pay at the Atlantis. Everything is TITO. I grabbed my ticket and ran to the nearest redemption machine and cashed it. Never had any interaction with Atlantis personnel, except the cocktail waitresses!

Great report, it sounds like y'all hit a few different places in your short 3 days! Congrats on the Royals.

It's hard to stay (and actually pay!) at a motel, when you're used to comped rooms at nice hotels...LOL.
