I knew this day was coming - Silver Legacy, Eldorado and Circus Circus have now merged their players clubs benefits into one system called One Club. Has anyone played at any of these properties since that changeover? Did this just happen at the first of the year?

I tried to log into my SL players account on their website and could not find where to do that anymore which is how I noticed the new club. I have still been getting offers in the mail but apparently can't access my online account since I'm not under the new system yet.

What I have seen so far is that it is going to be MUCH harder (impossible in my case) to get the same level of benefits anymore and I figured under the new point system it would be harder to accumulate. Under the old SL system I was at Premier level card (average daily points of 400-1,999). Under this new system the lowest level card is Bronze and you need 0-499 just for that level. To be at that third level card (Gold has replaced Premier) you need 4,000 to 14,999 points! I would never ever come close to being able to earn that many points. Ugh!

I noticed they have also shortened the evaluation period from 14 months down to 12 months.

As I mentioned, I am still getting room offers in the mail and I will be contacting my host (who I never hear from any more so I'm wondering if I even have a host anymore - but how I had a host in the first place is beyond me!) when I receive my February offers as I have a trip to Reno planned at the end of February.

I also looked under their new club FAQ and it does not even reference anything about transferring comps from the old system. I had about $70.00 in comps waiting for me on this trip next month. I hope they will honor previously existing comps or did they just go into oblivion somewhere and you are just SOL?

Just wondered if anyone has played at any of these properties yet under this new system.

Here is a link to the new benefits for anyone who is interested

Just when we move the ball inside the 20, they move the goal line back another 10 yards.

NOW expect those "Free" room offers to be "sold out, but we can upgrade you into a room with clean linens for an additional $ 40 / night".

Besides, who wants a room at Circus Circus at anytime?

Notice you don't get a host until the 4th level..."President"?

Not to be contrarian, but I kinda like Circus Circus as a hotel. At least in my experience, the rooms have always been clean and quiet. We stayed there almost 3 years ago and my only complaint was a bed that was way too cloud like. (My back ain't what it used to be). My wife likes to look out over Virginia Street with Topsy (the big clown sign) smiling up at her.

I think the Eldorado and Silver Legacy are class acts. Circus Circus is more of a family place. All three have a unique identity, but I think it was a brilliant idea to put all three 'under the same roof' so to speak.

We like the midway too. A good diversion from gambling for a little while.

That's my defense of Circus Circus. I rest my case.

Good luck to the Eldorado and it's brothers. Downtown Reno would be a lonely place without them.

Me, the Low Roller, got a room offer and will be heading to RNO later this month.

I frankly never worry too much about points (but I use the card every single time, I'm not a fool) because I just don't gamble much (YES, seriously) and I'm a craps player. Last trip? I earned enough for a bag of chips in the gift shop. No, I'm not kidding.

BUT they did make point of telling me when I booked the room on the freebie that I had to get my new account set up as soon as I arrived (oh and my bottle of wine).....

We shall see. Those new levels are going to take me from a bag of chips to a piece of gum.

Zydeco - Glad you got a room offer from SL! Happy for you! Have a great time in Reno later this month! I will be there next month!

I've never really worried about points or even tried to chase any because it was always so easy for me to maintain Celebrity or Premier level at SL (I have never accumulated more than 500 points in a day). But I knew this comp system would come to an end at some point. I've said before that I thought SL was quite generous with their comp system: free rooms without being a high roller, how fast points accumulate, etc. Especially since I can only visit Reno once a year, sometimes twice a year. I knew once they changed over their comp system and combined with Eldo and Circus it would not be a good thing for me. But it's been a great run.

Has anyone noticed a change in the cocktail service since the merger? I go to Reno each February/March and usually stay at ElDo but I've been seeing several comments on tripadvisor/yelp regarding slow/no drink service. Just want to make sure I can still be thoroughly inebriated while I play $10/hand blackjack and bartop VP.

Have you received your February offers yet? I have not received anything and my offers usually arrive in the mail by early/mid-month.

I finally received my February offers in the mail, but not before I contacted my host. She booked my room for me and ended up comping all 3 nights (my monthly offers are always for 2 nights). She also comped me a ticket to the Experience Hendrix show. I am very happy about that as that is one of the main reasons I booked for that weekend next month. Should be a great show. It's at the Reno Ballroom. Never been there before.

She said the offers will eventually be back online so you can just check your account online like before but it sounds like they are still working out some kinks in this new points/comp system. She did say that comps leftover from my old card will transfer to the new one. So my $70.00 or so left on my old card from the last trip should be waiting for me.

My free play has mysteriously been dropping the last couple months. For years I always got $40.00 in free play each month. In January it dropped down to $35.00 and in February it dropped down to $20.00. I don't think it's a coincidence that my free play has dropped since this new program took over. See how talented I am? I'm already losing money and I haven't even gotten to Reno yet! Shocked Impressive, huh? I will try to convince myself it's not a sign of things to come during the trip! Laughing

Hey, it's all good. I will be in Reno next month! Always a good time! Comps or no comps, points or no points, free play or no free play, nothing will stop me from visiting my beloved Reno. Ever.

Sea Hawk:

As I read your link... The only difference between the NEW Bronze & Silver is "VIP Parking"? And you need to bump to GOLD to get offers? But the old SL Blue got room offers. Because I had a W-2G win in 2016...I got a "jackpot winner" offer for a 3 night room in December which I never used.... weather.

As I mentioned in my 2016 Trip reports, I was just upgraded to blue and was getting the occasional two comp night offer which I never used YET.

But I gave SL a swell YELP write up after they fixed that $ 404 aged cash out ticket fiasco. She isn't YOUR host is she?

I have played very little at Eldo and never at Circus. I wonder where I'll land at "ONE CLUB". Any guesses?

JD – your guess is as good as mine. I am going into my trip later this month with low expectations as far as this new system is concerned and if it’s something better I will be pleasantly surprised.

I am presuming I will be starting all over again at the Bronze level as this new point system is much higher than the old system. As I stated in this thread I have never gotten more than 500 points in a day. I usually average somewhere between 300 and 420 or so which is why I always went back and forth between Celebrity (blue card) and Premier (tan card) under the old system.

And as I’ve stated in this thread and other threads on this board, I cannot figure out how I even got a host in the first place. I have attached here an image of the OLD comp system so you can compare the two (since I previously attached the link to the new system in my initial post in this thread). Glad I saved that old brochure. And you’ll see that you supposedly needed Elite level to have a personal executive host under the old system. I would never be able to get those kind of points per day. I just don’t have the funds to gamble that much.

Wow, JD! Yes, Mary Powers is my host also. I have to say she has done right by me. My offers in the mail are for 2 nights but the last couple times she has comped me 3 nights (even though I am not gambling more than usual). I don’t hear from her at all anymore (she used to call me every 2 or 3 months) which is I why I’m wondering if I’m about to be dropped from being hosted. She also stated I don’t gamble enough for her to even comp me extra meals (I just get my meals comped through the points I earn on my card). So again, I’m obviously not a high roller.

And she/Silver Legacy really did right by you fixing that $400 ticket fiasco! I saw your Yelp review, good write up, JD! I will always love me some Silver Legacy!

So I don’t know about the offers. Since you received a “jackpot winner” offer maybe you’ll get different offers than I get. I have never won a jackpot at SL (nor at any other casino in Reno that required a W2-G, sad but true). Since I don’t “win” they want me to keep coming back! Ha ha! Mary did say that offers are based on gaming activity and not necessarily on card level so maybe both of us will continue to get offers anyway even under this new system (and there is an asterisk next to the “No Charge Complimentary or Discounted Room Offers” and “Complimentary Show Tickets” on the new benefits table which states that. So it’s clear that the hosts have discretion and don’t necessarily have to follow the benefits table to the letter.

I rarely played at Eldorado or Circus either (so little that I never even bothered to sign up for players cards at either location). But I am going to play at both of those casinos (in addition to SL) on this upcoming trip just to see what happens. Maybe I will start getting offers from those places too? At the very least the points should “add up faster” since all 3 places are under the same system now. I don’t have a desire to stay at Circus but I will be curious to see what happens now with all 3 under the same system if the offers will change at all. I have stayed at Eldorado once or twice and their rooms are pretty nice.

As I said, I’m going in with low expectations. I can only get to Reno once or twice a year so I can’t really worry about chasing points. Whatever happens, happens. I will report back of course in this thread about the actual benefits portion and where I landed in the new One Club. And will also write a separate trip report.

We visited 1/26 - 1/29. Got my free room (yes, it was free for two nights, no charges) and my free wine and my new card. I'm a low roller so no expectations. I do play Eldo, but no way to CC. Thinking that was my last free room offer. Ever.

I have been getting offers monthly from Sl since playing there for an hour or two last trip. 2 free nights and a whole $10 in free play. So do they not charge resort fees on their free rooms? We most likely will be breaking away from the Pep and stay downtown a few nights. Haven't stayed at SL in forever. Before they remodeled. We also have Harrahs as an option but i am pretty sure they do charge resort fees on comped rooms. Does anyone know if Atlantis charges resort fees on comped rooms? Going to be hard to decide where to stay.... lol

My Pepp free play offers have been bouncing up and down...really weird. We still plan to stay there just not as many nights.

Wow, Alison! If you are getting monthly offers from SL after only playing there for an hour or two I guess I shouldn't wonder anymore if my offers will stop coming! And that is correct that SL does not charge resort fees on comped nights. I see that the resort fees are now over $23.00 per day so that's a good thing they don't charge on comped nights. That's gone up about $3.00 per day just since September when I was last there.

I got a mailer today for 1 night at SL Sun-Thurs. I was reading the fine(ish) print and it said the value was $250.

I called the reservation line and asked about the $250 room value and after providing them with my players card # they immediately cut me off and asked when I was looking to stay. I told them my 3 nights (2/28 - 3/3), and after about 5 minutes of listening to some ambient mouse clicking the lady responded with 'I would like to invite you to stay with us complimentary for all three nights'.

Almost couldn't believe it! Snap-accepted their offer. Only on the hook for resort fees, or at least that was in the standard language on the e-mail received. I got 2 free nights at ElDo last year and got charged $0, so I'm hoping for the same deal this time. This 11th hour offer saved me $250 for the rooms I already had booked at ElDo - still kinda weird that ElDo didn't send me offers.

Last trip I barely put in any play at SL, and I only make 1 trip to Reno each year. I played enough $10 BJ and 25c VP at ElDo to get upgraded to their gold card, but definitely not a high roller by any means. Only thing I can think of is that they guy who was with me with bets $100-$200 a hand and doesn't use a player card, so maybe they are using me to lure him back Laughing
