When do the Reno-centric Martin Luthor King Day carol parodies begin?

My best answer would be ... I'm waiting, at the vey least, until St Paddy's day.

Yikes! Is it really that time again? I may not have realized what I was getting myself into when I started this thread last year. But, .... gotta give it that ole Reno try!

Since pledging to come up with another Reno Christmas ditty, I've been procrastinating and uninspired. But tonight, with Christmas fast approaching, I decided it was finally time and put my head to the grind-stone. Here's the result of my efforts ...

Stumblin' thru a Gamblin' Wonderland by BC Dave

Slot bells ring
Tonic's fizzin'
Lucky Lane
Gambler's missin'
The jackpot that might
Delight them tonight
Stumblin' thru a Gamblin' Wonderland

Gone away is the old nerd
Here to stay is the new nerd
He plays Donkey Kong
As we sing this song
Stumblin' thru a Gamblin' Wonderland

In the foyer we can build a snowman
And pretend that he is Harold Smith
He'll say, "Are you busted?"
We'll say, "No man!
But give us funbooks while we're in town!"

Later on we're on fire
As we bet ever higher
But now I am crazed
The huge bets that I made
Are payin' for this Gamblin' Wonderland!

(I realize the second stanza is off topic and makes ZERO SENSE ... sorry!).

Try to hum along...

Reno got invaded by a reindeer
Charging past the Arch on V'ginia St.
You can say there's no such thing as Jesus
But as for me and Santa we believe

Don't know why Blitzen was in the eggnog
And we begged her not to go
But she lost her bank at Cal Neva
Staggered right past Harrahs to find some more

The police found out the next morning
A bum had been attacked
He said he should have seen it coming,
Cuz he saw Blitzen toking on some smack.

Reno got invaded by a reindeer
Charging past the Arch on V'ginia St.
You can say there's no such thing as Jesus
But as for me and Santa we believe

Now we're all so proud of Santa
He's been taking this so well
You'd have thought there'd be more worry
Cuz with only seven reindeer, who rings the bell?

So Santa set out to find her
In the front door and out the back
Got as far as Circus Circus
When he saw Blitzen betting big on black (“All on black?”)

Reno got invaded by a reindeer
Charging past the Arch on V'ginia St.
You can say there's no such thing as Jesus
But as for me and Santa we believe

Santa put his arm 'round Blitzen
And handed her a cig
Then invoked the name of Jesus
As Blitzen was raised to fear the wrath of God

Jesus walked right off the sky tram
Could say he floated out the door
He walked right up to Blitzen
And said to her “Best to put all your dough on red”

Reno got invaded by a reindeer
Charging past the Arch on V'ginia St.
You can say there's no such thing as Jesus
But as for me and Santa we believe

Wow Mjames, you came thru with flying colors. I find it fascinating how juxtapose man's lust to gamble with the Christian moral vs practical dichotomy. But, obviously, more poetic analysis is needed - (on my part). Or ... Maybe it's just good quality nonsense. Anyway, .... MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

No, that would be a reindeer's lust to gamble...

Happy Boxing Day!
