Okay so it's not a trip report right now but can I please have my moment? Ha ha! Just booked my next flight to Reno! Will be staying 5 nights at Silver Legacy, September 8 to 13. So excited! This will be my first trip to Reno longer than 3 nights (that in itself is scary - need to save extra $$$ for slot machine fund). Will actually be arriving in Reno a few days earlier than that and renting a car and going to Lassen Volcanic National Park (first time visiting there) for a few days prior to heading back to Reno. Arriving back in Reno in time for the balloon festival and opening weekend of NFL football. Watching all the games simultaneously, excessive drinking, placing parlay bets on the games that I will most likely lose, what more could a girl want? Good times await! Yay!

My moment is over. Thank you for reading! Very Happy

Just got my hotel room booked at Silver Legacy. Found out they are going to comp 3 of my 5 nights (they usually only comp 2 nights).

As I was exploring Silver Legacy's website I noticed that the sports book is currently closed down and is being expanded and remodeled and will be open in September in time for my arrival which also coincides with the opening weekend of the NFL season. So I will be watching my Seahawks in the brand new sports book! That old sports book was way overdue for a major renovation! Can't wait to see it! It will be 7,200 square feet and will be run by William Hill. The sports book at Circus Circus is getting an upgrade too. I've attached a link with more details.

41 days!!!

Seahawk: What color is your Legacy card and did you have to ASK to get any comped nights? Or were the 3 nights in your "MY OFFERS"? What kind of a rate did they give you (mid week vrs. weekend).

It took me a LOT of action to go blue and so far I've had ONE comped night.

Maybe I just have to beg.

IF you get the chance, ask for a "Panorama room". At the end of the hall...the last rooms have a view in two directions....very nice....but not sure I'd pay much for it.

I am currently at the tan color card, Premier level. But there are times I’ve been at the blue color card, Celebrity level. I never have to ask for comped nights as I always get 2 free night offers every month and have for many years. I usually can only make it to Reno once a year (this year is a fluke that I am going twice). But I always stay at Silver Legacy when I do go. I also do at least 80% of my playing at Silver Legacy when in Reno so I guess that keeps my levels somewhat "current.” And I think in their Star Rewards fine print that the card levels are determined on play average, per day, and play for a 14 month rolling calendar.

I have never received an offer of more than 2 comped nights (that’s the standard offer I get in my monthly mailers via US mail and is the exact same offer as listed in My Offers online). My monthly offers also include 2 free show tickets. And in September I am getting 2 free tickets to the VIP tent at the balloon festival. This. Will. Be. Awesome.

This is the first time I have been comped more than 2 nights but that’s probably not a coincidence since I’m staying 5 nights on this trip (I usually only stay 3 nights). My host made the decision to comp me the third night and I have to pay for the other 2. I am staying in the Luxury category room (which are floors 18-25) and that is the category I get in my comp offers. I will pay the casino comp rate of $45.99 per night for the 2 nights, plus the taxes and resort fees. They don’t charge the resort fees on the comp nights just the pay nights.

To be honest JD, I don’t even know why I have a host. I’m not a high roller, I only get $40.00 in free play, have never won anything big there (have never even had a W-2G anywhere in Reno, sad but true), and even in their Star Rewards brochure it states only the Elite and Five Star level cards have hosts. I’ve never come close to (and never will) playing at that level, so go figure. And I know you mentioned in your last trip report that you actually spoke to a host and she referenced they lose money on you since you win there! So maybe since they never lose money on me, ha ha!…Who knows! I gave up years ago trying to figure out casino comp systems!

But I’m quite happy with the $45.99 casino comp rate which I’m only paying for the Sun and Mon nights (the cheapest 2 nights of the 5), and they are comping the Thu, Fri, Sat which is a nice chunk of change (Thu rate is $69.99 and Fri and Sat are $179.99 each on the website so I am being comped $400+ in room rates). And the website rate for Sun, Mon (which are my pay nights) is $79.99 per night so I’m getting a good discount with that $45.99 casino comp rate.

Yes, I have stayed in those Panoramic rooms at the end of the hall with the extra windows and actually may consider upgrading to that for this trip especially since it’s for the balloon festival and it would be nice to have that extra window and being able to see two different directions (but I’m sure it would increase my nightly rate for the 2 nights I am paying for but may be worth it anyway since I’m unexpectedly getting a third night comped). It is a great location and very quiet at the end of the hall. But I can remember years ago before they remodeled all the rooms and added all these extra categories that I never used to have to pay extra for those end of the hall rooms. Now they charge more for those. I haven’t stayed in one of those rooms since then.
