the machines are right at the bottom of the escalator that leads from the upstairs casino to the downstairs. also next to an exit.

9/6 vp has a 99.54% return if played perfectly!

To use the strategy look up all viable ways to play an initial hand on the following list and elect that which is highest on the list. A "high card" means a jack or higher.

Four of a kind, straight flush, royal flush
1. 4 to a royal flush
2. Three of a kind, straight, flush, full house
3. 4 to a straight flush
4. Two pair
5. High pair
6. 3 to a royal flush
7. 4 to a flush
8. Low pair
9. 4 to an outside straight
10. 2 suited high cards
11. 3 to a straight flush
12. 2 unsuited high cards (if more than 2 pick then pick lowest 2)
13. Suited 10/J, 10/Q, or 10/K
14. One high card
15. Discard everything

Terms:

High card: A jack, queen, king, or ace. These cards are retained more often because if paired up they return the original bet.

Outside straight: An open ended straight that can be completed at either end, such as the cards 7,8,9,10.

Inside straight: A straight with a missing inside card, such as the cards 6,7,9,10. In addition A,2,3,4 and J,Q,K,A also count as inside straights because they are at an extreme end.

also make sure you post if you find any high vp payouts

Straight Flush 50

Full House 9 <- This is the "9" in 9/6
Flush 6 <- This is the "6"
Straight 4

Two pair 2
Pair of Jacks or higher 1
How much difference does it make?

You'll also find it in the multi-game machines upstairs, along the wall next to the race book.

Great Info Quinc.

Anyone know of any 10/7 DDB VP machines in Reno. I found 9/6 DDB machines at Peppermill, which I was still happy to play, since most Vegas casinos now have DDB pay schedules of 8/5 or less.

Ryder- There are some 10/6 DDB at the Peppermill at the quarter and dollar level. At the dollar level they have a progressive on the RF They are located west of the table game area. Also, they have 9/6 DDB with progressive on all 4 oak's and above at the quarter level. These are located near the entrance to the fish bar.

Did you mean 10/7 DB? There are some of those near the flamingo bar at the quarter level with a progressive. Also, if you play dollars, they have 10/7 DB at the Oceano bar with a RF progressive on the RF. That is probably the best VP play in the house, but DB at the dollar level can eat my money too fast.

Thanks CaSwede, your right I meant 10/6 DDB. I found the 9/6 machines, but will have to look for the 10/6 ones and check out the VP machines with the progressive 4 OAK's

The other thing I noticed is that many of the machines when you hit max bet, you ended up betting 15 quarters instead of 5. made this mistake a few times playing some 10-play machines (which was costly)

Yes, you are correct about the max bet......watch out.

Speaking of that, there was a bank of 9/6 DDB that had a progressive on the RF with max bet on the $ level. These machines were in that area between the Fish Bar and the Fireside Lounge. Max bet is $10, but when I was there about a month ago, the RF progressive was well almost $11,000. It was getting some attention by the pros. Way over my head.

A guy sat next to me, hit max play at the dollar on those, and was dealt a SF= $500 on the first hand. Smile

I would have cashed out right then. He was still playing away about 2 hours later. I never did check those machines on my last trip.

You need to be especially careful playing at most of the Pep's machines. Max bet on nickels and dimes is 50 and dollars is 25. I'm not sure about max on quarters.
