ok, here it goes. Will do my best to write something that doesnt bore you all.

We left Weds after work about 5:15. Headed over I-90. Got stuck in a construction closure as we were traveling on 90. Grrr! Traffic was down to 1 lane. Plan was to take 97 down. Well for the most part traveling that route worked well. There were alot of deer out and deer that had been hit. For a long portion of the drive we stayed behind a semi instead of passing. I would rather them hit something than I! They were moving pretty well so it wasnt bad. Normally i would want to pass but with being so tired it really was safer for us.

We stopped in the small town of La Pine at the Timbercrest Inn to see about a room. Well it was around 1 a.m. or so, so everyone was asleep. Had to wake the poor guy up. Well they wanted $90 for a room. Umm no thanks! We asked about how far out we were from Klamath and the guy acted clue less. Said he didnt know, he had never been there. Yeah ok. This guy was in his 60's and I'm sure was local. he knew. I'm sure he was just irritated. After now seeing the trip advisor reviews, I'm glad we passed.

So off we go. We got stuck in more construction on 97 just south Of Chemult i think it was. Had to sit there about ten minutes waiting what felt like forever, half asleep. So we finally roll into Kalamth Falls around 3 am. We again stop at a hotel with a vacancy sign. Again have to wake someone up. The girl tells us they have no room, that they are being renovated. ok so why is there a vacancy sign and people obviously staying there? Oh well...On we go. Stop again at a super 8 i think it was next to the Pilot....well they too are full. Guy was nice and said he would call the hotel across the street to let her know we were coming. He must not have reached her because we again stood outside trying to ring the bell for someone. We eventually get our room. I think it was about $60. Had a mini fridge and free wifi..kinda loud tho but we just needed a few hours sleep. It was the A-1 Budget Hotel I believe.

We end up leaving around 10 a.m. i believe. Off to the Peppermill we go! I cant recall exactly when we arrived. 2:30 or so i think. We got Tuscany room T333...all the way at the edn of the hall...OMG! Talk about alot of walking..lol. Room was nice as always. Just forever away from everything. We combined our offers for a total of 6 free nights in a Tuscany Suite. We always get a pool side balcony room.

The first day i did pretty good gambling. I was up only $200 so i wasn't max betting or anything. I played this game that i cant recall what its called. Ugh! Anyway, i get a bonus. Max bet is $2.75 and i was only betting $1.65. If you get these blu orb things you can win a progressive based on how many you get. Well....Let me just say this. It happened. Something that never happens. I get them all! Instead of winning $4000 i win $800. I was so upset! I know $800 is good but $4000 holy shit!!! So that was my bummer moment of the trip. I had some other few hits that day to keep me going as well. For the rest of the trip though, horrible!! HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if i was fortunate to get a bonus, i was lucky if it paid more than $10 and im not exaggerating. Everything was really bad. If i won $100 it was a miracle. I did have one $300 hit one day but that was it. It was so bad and i went thru all my winning so fast. Dawn did fairly good. She ended up not spending any money. She sat down at a Aristocrat Super Wheel Blast and won $1000.. She also had a few smaller hits. ou can see by my credits that i was doing pretty good after that $900 bonus. I went big though. I was betting big becasue i was up so much. Well my plan failed. I know some of you may think im crazy to go thru all that, but my motto is Go Big Or Go Home! lol...You cant win big unless you bet big. Of course i never hit though when i am betting big...bastards!Here's a couple, this first one is the progressive.

All these wilds and bonus ended up being $350 on that bet. Lame! I did get the mystery progressive though for about $350

As far as food goes, we ate at the Coffee Shop alot. We also had the Buffett one night, it was good. We went into Chi the Chinese restaraunt and it was horrible. So horrible we asked to talk to the manager. Or she did i should say. I hid..lol..... We ate barely any of the food. The Generals Chicken was disgusting and the chicken pieces were bigger than golf balls. So bizzare. She had a couple drinks that they ended up taking care of and not charging us for the meal. We did order room service one night. Dont order the Pizza. Not good at all! I ordered the California Berry Crepes several times from the little place outside Biscottis. Those i love!

Drink Service was so so. The consistancy on drinks is so all over the place. Sometimes it seemed like there was no alcohol in the drinks at all.

Dawn had a massage and some type of wrap at the spa. She said the Spa was really nice and her massage was excellent. I guess you get a day pass for the spa if you order any of their services so she checked everything out. This is her first time there and i think she would do it again. I am not a fan of strangers touching me all over my body, so i declined..lol...

I ened up earning 2600 points on my card keeping my Platinum Status. Dawn earned a little less. So hopefully we get some even better cash offers. It really is beneficial to go on their comp mulitpier days. The comps add up so fast. I must have earned close to $200 that trip. Not to mention i started with $150 from my previous trip. I think i still had about $60 left when we departed. Dawn had used up all of hers. So we ended up not paying for any of the food.

The one thing that was nice is the Pep is now playing better music. Its more of a variety then it used to be so that was nice. Some of the furnishings in the room are starting to show some wear. Another thing that we noticed is whenever we got off the elevator, it reeked like shit. No joke. BAD! I thought i had read somewhere there was some issue with that in the Tuscany Tower. Not 100% though. We mentioned it at check out as it was soooo bad.

We did the drive home all in one day. On the way we stoped at All Star Liquors Express. Alcohol is so freaking cheap there. you can even order online and pay, and have someone else pick it up for you. Very convenient. Highly recomend that place. A bottle of Patron is $35 there and about $60 here in Washington. Quite a difference. A friend of mind ordered some stuff online and i picked it up for her so the system does work well. They get alot of people from Oregon and Wa doing this.

Thats all i can think of for now. Hopefully i didn't bore you!

Thanks for the awesome trip report and glad there were at least some winning combinations for you, as up and down as it was!

One thing to always remember regarding the "it could've been that much higher if playing max bet" situation is that chances are, the outcome of your spin probably would've been completely different if you had been playing max bet (although sure would've been nice if the same winning combination popped up regardless!) The same process applies if a jackpot hits on a machine you just got up off of (and possibly put a lot of money through) - just keep telling yourself that you would've not only had to have been sitting in that chair, but you'd also have to have had pushed the spin button, at the exact same billionth of a millisecond that the jackpot was awarded to the person that won, where the chances of that happening twice are super unrealistic! Haha. I used to have the exact same mentality but once I got this new gig, my supervisors are constantly preaching things to pass on to patrons who get ticked off after such situations arise. It really sheds a different light on things sometimes!

Sorry to hear that Chi was bad. To be honest, I had never really heard anything good about it, it just always looked really pricey for what it was worth. I also heard from several different people that it comes from the same kitchen as the Coffee Shop food, only they might put a bit more presentation into it (similar to a few of the restaurants at the Eldorado), so I used to just stick to ordering Chinese at the Coffee Shop! haha

Glad you had an awesome trip. Do they still flash the "thunderstorm strobe lights" at the Island Buffet?

Hey Mammoth!!
Yes i know the outcome could have been differnt had i been max betting. Its just knowing that it possibly could have been that...lol..Ahh the joys of gambling.

The Island Buffett still is the same. I think its due for an upgrade personally. Everything but there has been upgraded. I noticed it seemed they had changed a little bit of the decor in the coffee shop. Also on the second floor area where the slots used to be, they have changed everything from the dark woods and what not to a much brighter creamy white color. They also have changed out all the italian themed wall hangings to photos from around the world.

I dont think CHI is a Cafe Milano kitchen...I cant say 100% but i really dont think so. The food though is way overpriced. I miss my old steakhouse. We didnt even go to the steakhouse this trip. Its so fricking expensive too. I hate how everything is ala carte.

Alison - thanks for the great trip report! I really enjoyed it! That $800 was a great hit for a $1.65 bet. From looking at the screen shots on those hits you got I don't recognize any of those machines and know that I have not played any of them. That is another one of the great things I enjoy about going to Reno is getting to play machines that the local tribal casinos don't have. I'm sure there will be new machines for me to check out later this month when I'm in Reno. On last year's trip I fell in love with the Sphinx 3D machines at Silver Legacy!

The Peppermill sure looks like a nice place to stay. I've never been in a suite in Reno so I'm sure that is a wonderful experience (I'm only comped into regular rooms). I will have to stay a few nights at the Peppermill someday. I would be curious to see what offers I get (if any) after staying and playing there and compare it with the Silver Legacy offers I already receive.

Atta girl, Alison...I knew you could do it if I nagged you enough.

(Damn...I'm sitting here in my skives at 9:40 am and housekeeping ignores my "DO NOT DISTURB" sign. Checkout isn't for a couple hours)

That's a GREAT trip report. I've only stayed once at the P Mill and clearly I'm not the kind of player they want to encourage. PLUS the took out the live music at the Cabaret Bar.

Anyway...thanks for taking the time to write your great report.

There's a lot of machines in Reno you can't find here at the local casinos. That's for sure.

Next time your in reno go check out the Peppermill. Sign up for a card a play even a little bit. That's how we started out. A stop in there for an hour our first trip to reno, and 15 years later we still are going.

Glad you liked my report. I didn't think it was too exciting.

Go Hawks!!!!!

Yeah it took me awhile but I finally wrote it for ya JD. 😀

You too should stop in the Pep. Its changed a lot. Its always nice to have options for other places to stay. I should visit the downtown casinos next time. Get back in the loop. Mix it up.

What is it with house keeping ignoring those signs? Good thing they didn't catch ya doing something else... 😉😉😉 hahhah

Whoa! That's a lot of wild cards! Shocked 45 of 'em - I counted. Shouldn't that pay "like" a million bucks or somethin'?

Thanks for the great trip report Alison. Glad you had some luck. Too bad about the other days. Crying or Very sad Sounds like your friend helped bring up the average a bit - does that help?

We like the Tuscany rooms too. Disturbing to hear about the rooms starting to show wear - even worse to hear about stinky hallways. Also kinda disturbing to hear about crappy food in a supposedly up-scale Asian restaurant. I've had Chinese food many times at the Eldorado - they always seem to do very well.

Did you drive back the same way you went down?

I about pooped when I got all those wilds. I though it was a jackpot for sure on a $2.50 bet...nope. Hardly!

Yeah it doesn't take long for the rooms to get banged up. All that dark wood furniture it really shows. I'm a details person so maybe I notice more that the average person and I'm being picky. Lol...The smell though I'm sure I wasn't imagining. It was bad!! Every day too. Really strange. Have to wonder what it was from. Probably not an easy fix either I'm guessing.

Definitely stay away from the Asian place. Really is over priced and just not good. The flavors were so bland. I really was supposed it was packed in there. We couldn't be the only ones who thought it was bad.

We took our regular route home since we wanted to stop at the liquor outlet. That place really has some great seals and they have everything and anything. Friendly helpful service too. People wer buying several cases at a time. Dawn only got 4 this trip. Lol

I love Patron Silver. The price at Reno's discount liquor stores is about 1/4 of the Canadian price. A friend brought me back a bottle of Don Julio from Mexico. It's very good - maybe better than Patron. If you love good sipping tequilas you might want to give it a try sometime.

The "modern" ship , I once worked on, (well OK, it was a ferry built in 1993) had a supposedly high tech sewage system. It used to stink to high heaven at times. Hope they didn't install something like it in the Tuscany tower.

I am very familiar with Mr Julio Smile
