Keep it coming, JD. When I reed your reports, I feel like I'm in Reno myself.

JD had quite a night at the P-mill. Sitting next to him, I noticed the money I put in my machine was immediately transferred to his. I offered him $1.37 to switch machines, but he wisely refused. He got about 1,200 4 of a kinds, but I was lucky to get 4 hearts. The last time we played was about a year and a half ago at the Atlantis, and the roles were reversed, but the end result was the same: I won $400 at the Atlantis and dropped most of it at the P-mill.

Yes, the Siena is quite a place. The water features look much better on YouTube than in person. I touched one near the south entrance of the hotel. It was WET! I had to shake hands with the valet to dry off.

Then we bothered the folks at the (empty) restaurant to the point they told us there were no tables available at that time. They must have thought we were in the military, because as we left, we heard mention of "Major Paine" and "General Nuisance".

JD mentioned in his last post that I was promoting visitreno.com to probably the wrong people (bartender and waiters). I'd like to partner up with a hotel to get spectacular room rates for board members in exchange for free advertising on visitreno's main site. Since I haven't heard from the Siena, I'll approach the Sands because I know the Sales Manager (I built the Sundowner site for her when she worked there).

So, JD, you gave your winnings back to the Siena, huh? That's OK - they need it more than you do. We've all done that in an effort to keep Reno in business. These casinos weren't built on winners.

I'll give you a call later today. I think I still have some money of yours. All those free beers cost only $20 each and there were plenty of them. Maybe someday I'll figure out how my car got parked sideways in the driveway.

Now let's get to the "Barely Legal" birthday at Little Nugget. It sounds kinda ... oh wait, I can't say that on this strictly regulated board

As soon as John left Siena, I go from PLUS $ 500 or so to MINUS $ 600.

For those that went to public school...that's an $ 1,100 swing!

Yikes!

But I now have 400 points on my Siena card. Problem is, no one seems to know what 400 points are worth or what the comp system is.

I trundle back up Virginia Street at midnight or so, feeling especially stupid.

Well, last night the little Nugget was fun. maybe I should try it.

Seems to be a birthday in progress. I ask if I missed the spanking. No one punches me out. I deliver the spanking...21 to be exact. "Wanna go to the CHilli Fest in VC?"

"Sure...we'll ALL (Bambi, Suzie, Mandy & I forgot) meet you there. "

sTUMBLE BACK TO "the nevadan" (damn cap lock) alone and crash hard.

Thurs. am sleep in...post....take nap....hydrate....rest....

No breakfast today but I need to make sure I get a few points on all of my cards. Eldo/Silver Legacy/Sands.

My old surfer card no longer works at terribles. I have Long wait at card club at sands...and I DID get a terrible's card last year but it never got into my bag.

Sands has a nasty habit that will drive Vegas Bear nuts. They not only demand your driver's license & DOB...but they take a pic of you in order toget a card. I sure hope they don't share my pic with the jay walking police.

What used to be the Margarita bar has always been good to me over the years. Two royals and one was a pretty fair progressive.

So I plop.

I steal John's idea of playing nickles with 20 ($ 1) bet. I feed ONE TEN DOLLAR BILL....and proceed to play for two hours on that $ 10.

Several 4 of a kinds....then my 4 aces w/ a 4. $ 400 !! and several "sand dollars" that can be used as food comps.

Where Tony Roma's used to be is now called "Copa bar and grill". The bartendress recommends the Smoked Prime rib...she's not wrong.

"Hello, I'm elizabeth and I'll be your waitress"
"Hello I'm JD and I'll be your BEST customer"
"Oh...I'm you ONLY customer? Then I'll be your BEST customer for sure"

Anyway...12 oz Smoked prime rib...is $ 13.95 but take your wine from the bar in, because inside the restaurant a glass is $ 8.

It's all comped and I get away with $ 380 (less a batch of twos which "Elizabeth" promises to bring up to VC with her tomorrow).

We are now taking odds on the likelyhood of the following actually showing up in VC this weekend:

Elizabeth: 20:1
Bambi: 30:1
Birthday Girl: 10:1
Cute cocktail waitress at Siena: 30:1
Cute Cocktail waitress at Silver Legacy: 50:1
Ugly bar tender guy at Little Nugget: 2;1

The only difference...in a horse race, One horse always wins.

I finish off at Siena...drop another $ 100 but it was the Sands anyway.

I gotta check out of the "Nevadan" now...Heading up to VC and unsure how my wireless internet works there. I MIGHT have to cruise foran unsecured router..

Next post from VC

But I need motivation to take the tim e to post when I could be losing money.

How about a little feedback, folks?

I'll put a deuce on those 30:1 odds for Bambi and I'm sure mjames will put a little something-something in, too....

I'd really like to see some blurry random pictures to spruce up this ongoing on-the-fly report.... although upon reading that, I can only begin to imagine what might be posted in response....

The big question for me is: What fine wine will go with chili? And will they serve it in a red Solo cup? Or is this one of those brown-bag situations with a bottle of MD 20/20?

JD,

Thanks for posting. I don't have anything to add just now except that the TR is very much appreciated and enjoyed.

Those aren't blurry photos, that what his eyes are really seeing.

I am always a sucker for the favorite, so give me a fin on the Ugly bartender guy at the Little Nugget.

And send me a quart of whichever chili is made with stew meat... that's that trick that wins me my chili contests here in Milwaukee.

I'm tossing my hat here as well for Bambi....or maybe the ugly bartender.

Yes, please do continue to share the adventure!

Thought those water features at Siena would be better on youtube.com.

Cheers!

"Thanks, JD - as you can see from the multiple replies, people are desperately awaiting the next chapter in this increasingly tawdry tale - side bets are racking up furiously according to the odds chart you threw up there, er, I mean, posted (we knew you threw up elsewhere) - the line out of Vegas is mostly following your picks, although several heavy hitters were talking up a new bet to add, namely:
"Elizabeth, Bambi, and Birthday girl ALL show up, but attached firmly to Jerry" - 10,000:1"

Next, let's go to the phone lines....oh, right, they don't work. Okay, well, as soon as you wake up and shake off your latest round of shakes, we'll be standing by, eagerly awaiting more!"

I hope I am not breaking any rules by posting here under Jerry's name (which is now "MUD") but you need to know this. This is his wife writing.
He is in the hospital last time I checked. How did this happen, you ask?

Well, this afternoon, four girls - identifying themselves as Mandy, Suzie, Bambi, and I forgot -- drove up to our place and arrived at our door with suitcases in hand. After introducing themselves, they responded to my very curious and critical facial expression with: "JD sent us".

Seems they were planning to spend the weekend with us. I said that JD was in Virginia City so how come they were HERE. They informed me that the situation seemed obvious and self-explanatory.

As I refused to unbar the door and admit them, they each pulled out a fist-full of two dollar bills and shoved them at me. It was as if they were flashing concert tickets to a Garth Brooks concert. Needless to say, ol Sam Colt and I refused them admittance.

I know that Jerry is going to enjoy reading JD's TRs when the swelling goes down and he is once again able to open his eyes.

I do have a comment re JD's experience at the Siena slot club. Did you really think they would be impressed with your Siena history when you were one of the first of those chosen to be ex-communicated from the Siena's VIP lists? Guess again Buster.
BTW, I'll give 3-1 that JD's once-favorite Siena bartender, Mark the Shark, shows in Virginia City over the weekend.

Keep writing (when able) JD. After all, if you remember the typewriter keys, you really don't need to "see" them through the haze.

I don't have much time right now but wanted to see if wireless works ok.

80 degrees Friday afternoon, lightning, wind, temperature drops 30 degrees in 30 minutes.

I do love this town. 600 people, 10 bars and saloons...live music at half of them.

More later...saloon reviewAFTER I hit all ten of them.

Bucket of Blood
Delta Saloon
Red Dog Saloon
Bonanza
Silver Dollar
Washoe Club
Ponderosa
Mark Twain Saloon
Union Brewery
Gold Hill Saloon

Gotta go now...but I think I still owe you a Friday report which will include:

Girls gone mild
Closing 4 bars in one night
Live music scene
Gettting hammered with the local newpaper reporter
(not too much gambling.....YET)

I am enjoying the real time type report..

With this comment- "Closing 4 bars in one night" I am expecting many typos in the next segment.
