Nothing exciting or new but will do the obligatory TR. Fun, as always. All rooms, drinks, meals comped by the Siena. I again rattled the cages of the powers about destroying all the VP pay tables. But they don't listen. Again, tho, saw another next to me hit the Royal. It is disconcerting when you are playing for the progressive and suddenly the number on your meter changes to the minimum. Then you look next to you and there it is. If you play here, watch for a bad ripoff on many machines: For 5 coins, the Royals only pay 1,500 coins instead of the standard 4,000. This is a very bad play. The Siena machines were also down for about two days. They couldn't play any of the Progressives. And the other games have even shorter pay tables. I had MANY chances in drawings over several hours on Fri and Sat but none of my hundreds of chances were drawn from the drum. Since the MC seems to know all the winners by name (and where they are playing in the casino at the time their name is drawn), a guy has to wonder about the legitimacy of the contests. Dynamite cocktail waitresses here. Just tell them you know Jerry and catch the reaction. They even treat John with respect when he comes in with me. Met John at the Pep and that was great but the gambling (as always) sucked big time. I don't know how anyone ever walks out of the Pep with any money. Tried to check in at Pep for a comp nite. Sorry, the power knocked out everything. No checkins, checkouts, no keys issued, etc. Everything at a standstill because of a light rain shower. They didn't even apologize. I was very disappointed in this. No choice of room. Just shoved a folder at me and said, "here's your room." I opened it, while my wife watched. "I will need two keys please". In summary, each visit I make to the Pep, they drop a little in my book. I was about to start my day Saturday with an optimistic outlook about 11 am. Someone taps me on the shoulder. I turn around and there is our moderator, John. "Hi, Jerry, I was at the Eldo and got hungry. Have you got any comps for lunch?" I was going to tell him to take a hike but my wife invited him to lunch. Now, I ask you board members???? How many of you order Steak and Lobster with a bottle of French wine for an 11 am lunch???? Truthfully, it was a pleasant surprise and I was happy to buy his lunch. He really is a cheap date (unlike the dates he purchases from the outcall service). We checked out at noon or so. But my wife would not leave. At dusk, she insisted we get a room for the night. But, I persevered and drove most of the way home until stopping for a brief nap at a rest area. We made it home about 6:30 am the next morning. That's about 19 hours after checkout and we only have a 6 hour drive. I had a great hit on a penny machine. I was playing a machine that I detest, The Unicorn. Haven't played it in a long time. But I was bored and couldn't find anything to play. I play for small potatoes on these machines - never play max lines. Anyhoo, I hit one pay for over 12,000 coins. A bit later, my wife topped me. On a penny machine (I think Hex) she hit for 13,000 coins. The nickle progressive Royal was hit at least three times while we were there. Unfortunately I could only get four to the Royal. Siena was celebrating their 4th birthday with cake and champagne. It seems like a lot longer than 4 years. Same ol, same ol, I guess. But we had fun and will do it again soon. We just may not put it on the schedule. That way the free-loaders can't come to lunch.
