Staying at Circus Circus in a couple of weeks. Do they have two towers and if so is one better than the other? |

They have two towers, and I have stayed at CC both in Feb 1995 and May 2007.
Most of the lower room rates are based on the Sky Tower, which, natch, is further from the casino. There is a tram connected to the two buildings which you board from inside, but curls around the outside of the building. It is kinda cool to ride once or twice, then it becomes slow and arduous.
A few years ago they built an underground passageway to connect the two towers. This was a brilliant idea, and made the walk from the Sky Tower elevator to the casino floor seem short.
Out of shear coincidence, my two stays at the CC were in rooms very close to each other. I took a photo out of my window each time, and the only way to tell the two photos apart is that one has the Sundowner in the shot, and one has a "Condos coming soon" banner draped on the building.
As long as you stay far away from the CC buffet, you can't go wrong staying in either tower. |

I've had good experiences with Circus Circus since I first started visiting Reno. I guess about 10 to 15 years ago (maybe more) they gave all the rooms a facelift that really improved them and they made the lobby kinda fancy too. The Casino still has an odd feeling with it's low ceiling (that leaves me reeling), but lots of people seem to like it there.
I may be the only person who has taken his wife to their buffet and still lives on in matrimonial bliss. That was a few years back, the plastic plates were tacky and the food was kinda blah rather than awful.
I've never been there but their steak house is supposed to be good. |

Does CC Reno have a steakhouse?
I have been to the Steakhouse in CC Las Vegas and it was very, very good (and BY FAR the only redeeming feature at CC LV). |

Our last two trips (in Oct.) to Reno were spent at CC, both times we stayed in a
mini suite in the Sky Tower. The rooms we had were clean, comfortable
and quiet.
We took the tram a few times but found that walking between the two
towers was faster and wasn't a very long walk. Liked the casino but they
really lack in providing cocktails to their players, cocktail waitress just
pretended people weren't there.
We ate at the buffet for breakfast and dinner (they didn't have plastic
plates when we were there). At breakfast, they offer an egg cook station
where they make your omlette (or eggs) just they way you want it. Lots
of food choices, enjoyed the salads, prime rib, etc. The price wasn't
as high as some of the other buffets and the food was pretty good each
time. |
