Hi, hope everyone is doing well! I know this has been asked here on the board before and sorry if it's off-topic but it's been a while and couldn't find any info.

Has anyone been to the Peppermill's properties in Wendover?

I just got an offer for 3 nights in a suite at any of the 3 properties in addition to $500 of free slot play and complimentary airfare for two from Fresno. From what I'm seeing it looks like most of their suites are the old Peppermill ghetto-style that I love so well that are long gone from Reno, so that alone would make the trip. It takes 5 hours to get to Fresno from here so it might take the same time driving vs. flying.

Looks like all their stuff is identical, all the way down to the Passport club, restaurants, everything.

Anybody got any info? Thanks!

Hey MG, If they are going to give you a room, transportation and $500, how much more info do you need? Sounds like my kinda place.

I got a similar offer too! Free air for two, free suite, and a coupon book ???...... you got $500 in free play? Wow. The trip leaves 9-28 from Fresno, right? I might see you there. I have not decided yet.

I have been to Wendover a few times. I prefer Montego Bay the best of all the places offered. They comp Red Stripe beer to players. When you walk in the place, you would swear you just walked into the Peppermill in Reno.

From Mammoth I guess your best route would be Hwy 120 through Yosemite to Fresno??

The casinos are very nice considering the location.

John is right...... what more is there to discuss? "Book it Dano"

When talking about Wendover it is often observed that:

Jews don't recognize Christ as the Messiah;

Lutherans don't recognize the Pope as the head of Christianity; and

Mormons don't recognize their friends and neighbors when they run into each other in the Wendover casinos....

Alison- you got a similar offer also? Somehow I thought you lived in Oregon, and not in the Fresno vicinity.

Remano- you are correct about the Mormons out of Utah, but keep in mind that they are big into tithing, so 10% of all winnings go to keep the good work of the church going.

thanks for the info everyone!

Yeah, I can't figure it out...I'm lucky if I get even $35-$100 freeplay from the places I frequent on a regular basis. Then, every now and again, some place I've never been to sends me a bank!

CaSwede, yes looks like it's that same exact flight, and even though I've been here almost 3 years I still don't know my way around! A friend did tell me that Fresno is literally not far from here, but you have to go thru Yosemite which makes it a long trip, so the highway you're speaking of is probably the one. I think this one might be worth it driving or flying (my Florida license finally expired so that's the first order of business right now, getting legal here!) Might see you there but if not I'm sure I'll bump into you in Reno or Tahoe one of these days. I'm wondering if I can use my normal Passport card there or if they have a "separate" one? We'll see.

not sure! It must be the mysterious Passport club at work again. And I'm only getting $35 freeplay, $20 food vouchers and 2 free tower room nights during the week, $79 weekends every month in Reno right now...?

yeah, that's a good catch phrase. But I don't have me no stinkin' offer like youse guys are gettin. I'd jump on it in a New York minute if it was offered from any close-by airport.

Wendover and its casinos are dumps but who can kick on a suite and gambling money with a free trip.

Yes, there is not much in Wendover, but they have a claim to fame.... the worlds largest mechanical cowboy- verified by the Guinness Book of records (no not the beer people). Wendover Will:

Las Vegas has Vegas Vic and down in Laughlin they have River Rick.

Is Wendover Will related to Spongebob?

Spongebob- Mr Square Pants? Naw- you got to be a chain smoker, and Spongebob can't get it lit.

Bendover Will is related to the Marlboro man, River Rick and Vegas Vic and here are his lung cancer relatives... cough cough.

So what exactly is "Mechanical" about that Wendover man? His greeting skills, clearly, but I was expecting more - like, he actually puffs his cigarette, or something....does the neon ring surrounding him enable him to claim "Mechanical" status? If that's true, I've qualified inside the Peppermill many times, especially afer a few drinks!
