Or maybe it should read, "the Hawk Sores".
Anyway, just returned from a TRIP to CA. Entering the house, I TRIPPED over the entry step. As I TRIPPED my way to the bathroom, I very nearly TRIPPED on the throw rug in the hall. My bride informed me that we are the proud recipients of TRIPLE casino offers from the "biggest little".

Therefore, ladeez and gents, prepare thyself. I am TRIPPING off to Reno in the a.m. TRIP report of big wins to follow shortly. Stay tuned here for the latest.
(And if I should report nothing here on the board, you will know that things did not go so well. However, I am cautiously optimistic about the forthcoming TRIP.

My goal is to TRIPLE my money.....

Flapping my wings and preparing to fly to Reno. BTW, the cops are all over the highways in CA and OR feverishly writing tickets around every bend (or so it seems) and at the bottom of every grade.

Thanks for reading my meaningless diatribe.

I wonder, was the Hawkster a bit "tripsy" when he wrote that post?

Well, that's about all that I have managed successfully so far this trip is to get a bit "tripsy". Wish I had better news.

Did OK a couple times at atlantis but then lost my shirt.
Another big losing session at the Pep.

Enjoyed the Bingo Birthday party with John but we did not get even a sniff at a Bingo..

Played a slot tourney at Grand sierra. They do this 4 days a week. Results: NADA!!!

Played 3 rounds of slot tourney at Eldo. Same results. So even when I play free, I am not getting anything.

It is WINTER here in Reno. Wind Chill says 37 but feels about 15 degrees. Hail and snow on the ground today. Folks, it is nearly Memorial Day. Where is the balmy weather.

As usual, the wind is very bitter here.

My room at Grand Sierra is HUGE.. It is larger than the Tuscany Rooms, but the bath is not as large. But it is a nice roomy bath here.
Everything is a bit outdated. I know they supposedly re=did all these rooms a few years back cause they sold off the furniture. But what is now in the rooms looks very dated-- I think they must have re-furnished with USED furniture. Decor reminds me of that at Death Valley.
Death valley Scotty would roll over in his grave.

Maybe more later if I can find anything to report on.
I am supposed to be heading home but I wonder if the roads will be open. Snow was once again predicted all along my route.
With clipped wings, I now sign off.

(But I still love Reno.) Very Happy
Hawk

Well, you get two cheers for giving it the college try. It certainly isn't the same when you're losing your shirt, but I'm hopeful that you had some fun in the process!

Did the Hawkster mention that bingo is so incredibly boring the only option is to drink the free beer they supply? To liven things up, one must engage total strangers in conversation and scream, "BINGO" after the third number is called. The only thing that kept me in the room was the excellent company of Hawk. As usual, he was a lot of fun to hang out with.

Yeah, John's company was the best thing about bingo. It is difficult not to have fun when we are together. Actually we got together a bit for 3 days in a row until my bride drug me away. Thanks John for the birthday cake and Heinies.

Had snow on way to church in Reno Sun. Had rain on way home.
I tried to leave yesterday but my roommate wanted another day so we stayed. Had a good time. Got to hit all my favorite thrift stores for a second time. We bought about 100 books, many for the church or gifts for friends. The thrift stores may be the best deal in Reno. They save me a lot of money cause I am not in the casino.

Speaking of which. My bride asked to go shopping on the last day, so I hung out at atlantis. Hadn't planned to return. Had way-too-many great Rombauer Merlots. but I did manage to achieve the next card level b y the hair of my chinny-chin-chin. Now, let's see if they offer anything.

For JD so that he can once again castigate all we non-smokers. I tried out Jerry's suggestion on the GSR. Wow, that is a nice, large, fantastic non=smoking area. Includes upscale lounge, live entertainment, and many slots with FP VP. Hard to get a seat most of the time. There is nothing like it in all of Nevada. That place was rockin and seriously crowded. Drink choices for players have no limits. They are doing things right here. This was actually the most popular place I saw while in Reno so they are being rewarded by recognizing the power of non-smokers.
Except for the dogs.

Siena seems to be doing everything the wrong way IMO. They are soon-to-be-history.

The Eldo show was entertaining music etc. Not great singers but adequate and enjoyable especially all those rock and roll tunes from the 50s. They seemed to use many backup singers to balance out the lack of real talent of the lead singers.

Oh, yes. I am a winner. I won $50 FOR 94th place in the slot tourney.

The Hawk now retires to his "nest".

Thanks for the TR. I enjoyed reading it. I agree with your observation about GSR. We've been treated well there the last few times we've been there.

Thanks for sharing. I'll be in town in 9 days (again? It seems like I was just there), and I hope there's some warmer weather this time around.

GSR: The comps come pretty fast, I think. Plus you can get a free meal each day without charge to comps by earning just 7.77. My wife used my ticket and had an $18 steak dinner. I had the biscuits and gravy and took the $4 out of my comps.
I was looking at my master bedroom at home. It is large by most standards. I estimate the GSR room was about 40% larger.

And, while trying to reach the next card level (and feeling the effects of over-indulging on good wine) at the Atlantis, I hit some nice payoffs on the pennies. Several paid me from $86 to $200 on two machines I never cared to play before: Lotus Flower and John Wayne.

And, we each received an unexpected $25 IN Free play when someone hit the big random jackpot while we were playing. It just automatically loaded onto each of our machines.

Next I am hoping for some parking privileges. It is a nightmare to park at the Atlantis.
