Keep in mind when booking a property the resort fee(s). For instance the Peppermill is $10 a night not stay. I wish someone would do stickies on airline fees (bags, drinks & etc) and Reno resort fees. Thanks. |

Hi VAPA! Listing airline fees won't happen here because they are in a constant state of change. I checked all the hotel sites and went through the booking process looking for resort fees until it came time to pay. I stopped there because Alison told me she'd never share a room with me, even if it was free and I promised to commit suicide the next day.
Here's what I found:
Atlantis:
$10 per night + tax (shown in small print on the second page of the reservation process)
Boomtown:
No fee
Circus Circus:
$4.99 per night
Cal-Neva:
No fee
Eldorado:
$5 per night + tax (shown as last item under policies and disclaimers)
Gold Dust West:
No online reservations
Grand Sierra Resort:
$10 + tax (hidden in link called terms and conditions. If you don't click on this first, you'll be surprised with the charge)
Harrah's:
No fee
JA Nugget:
$5 per night (shown as last item under policies and guidelines on second page of process)
Peppermill:
$10 + tax (shown as last item under terms and conditions. You have to scroll down to find it. Cleverly hidden)
Sands:
No fee
Siena:
No fee
Silver Legacy:
$6.82 + tax (shown as last item under policies and disclaimers on second page of process)
My house:
No fee for women, $12,000 fee for men

Many Las Vegas casinos use the same sleazy tactic. My understanding is that some of the fees are as high as $25 a day. It's ridiculous to try to sneak this past customers instead of just including it in the room rate for those who have to pay for rooms. Shame on them.

I just found this. I would like to report that the Silver Legacy's luxury tax has increased to $6.81 per night. This includes taxes. |

Thanks, Alphabeta. I updated the list to reflect the increased level of greed and trickery. The Eldorado also bumped their resort fee from $3 to $5.
I agree with the Bear. This should be included in the room price instead of being a bonus surprise at check-in. |
