|
|
I have an mp3 of a song that needs to be identified. The first person to correctly name that tune wins an almost new, used in actual play, authentic deck of Fitzgerald's playing cards, valued at $250,000 or less.
Listen to it here. |

I don't think that's right, Tracey. The original file was named MarieTheresa.mp3, but a Google search turned up nothing. I heard it being used as background music on a video on the Internet, but the author of the video hasn't responded to my request for information. I'm trying to find piano sheet music for the piece.
For being the first to respond, I'll send you a special edition $1 2010 Street Vibrations poker chip from the Bonanza Casino.
If you want that, just PM your address to me. |

I don't know either. I even had my "piano person" list to it....she just shrugged her shoulders. It may be an original piece of background music. |

I ran it through Shazam on my iPhone and it reported:
Don't Cry (La Nina Que Sone; scarlito remix)
by
Toby Love, featuring Alexis and Fido
I then re-sent it and got:
Bij Nader Inzien
by
Theo Nijand
Just the fact that I got two different responses tells me that I shouldn't believe either of them.

Didn't ring a bell, and I prefer to win such contests the old-fashioned way, by actually knowing the song.
But I heartily approve of this new contest format, and I look forward to many new challenges from John, each with cool and meaningful Reno-related prizes! |

Prelude in C sharp minor by Higgins.
Next!
John, you may be the first to hold an online contest, looking for the solution to a puzzle that has you stumped as well. I'm not complaining of course..... it actually adds an interesting new twist to the guessing game.

Swede, I wasn't clear on the origin of the tune. I first heard it a couple of years ago on the website of a Southern California band and thought it was original. Then last week, I heard it as background music on a video and thought it might be in the public domain. I grabbed from the band's site, but can't remember now who they are.
That was a good idea, Larry, but I'm starting to think the tune was never published.
Stan, I got the contest idea from LilyJDragonfly when she put those tricky Reno photos up. Maybe she and I can work together to come up with some nifty and challenging contests. Whadaya say, Lily?
You were close, BC, but Higgins' prelude was written for a full orchestra. Oh, yes...while I have your attention, are you coming to Reno for your birthday on the 8th? I have your gift ready for you. Should I ship it? I hope it meets Canada's emissions standards. |

Wifey and I had to stop and see those round tiled things that LilyJDragonfly posted a picture of. We laughed and then sat on them. |

Damn. The surprise is ruined, so I sent it back. But the good news is I got you a goldfish instead. |

Given the parking space at my house, the goldfish is more practical. The cats approve too! |
