Checking back in.
If anyone wondered if the moderator died, well I am here.

This is the longest I have missed going to Reno in two years.
Since the Siena changed their slot card system, my offers have dried up.
A couple months ago, I was offered as many as 18 free nights in one month. Now virtually nothing is dribbling in.

And, I gotta say, they are missing a bet. Cause I paid for my room several times over during the last trip. I really put a lot of money through their machines and very little came back.

They really want locals and the rest of us can "go suck an egg".

So, unless something changes quickly, I will be looking for another base of operations -- whoever offers me the free rooms will get my business.

I have played so much at Siena for last 3 years that the other casinos have quit sending me free offers.
I am actually getting more free room offers from Las Vegas and Laughlin.

And, I NEED A TRIP RIGHT NOW.............................

Anyway, just curious. Has anyone else experienced this in the last couple of months???????
The new system started (while I was there) on Super Bowl weekend.

I get a monthly offer from the Siena. Only thing I play there is craps. The offers aren't monstrously great, but 2 or 3 a year are really good.

Now that you mentioned it, I haven't had many Siena offers lately. It's just as well. Most of those "FREE ROOM DEALS" end up costing me 3 or 4 x what I could just buy the room for.

Funny how when they treat you like a high roller, you feel like you should ACT like a high roller. Big Mistake.

Right on, JD, that's exactly the way it happened with me too.
They will save me a lot of money if they don't send me free rooms.
I try to play A LOT where I stay (when free). So, now, I won't be playing much at the Siena.
I have always felt their machines were way too tight and the VP odds unfair. But I really like the staff.
So I can still go say hello to the staff, have a beer, burn up some comps (of which I have a lot), and play elsewhere.

The problem is that I have yet to find a casino in which I can win in Reno.

From 18 room nites per month to NONE in just one month is quite a change.

You're forgetting the most important rule of all, which is that if there were a casino where you could reliably "Win", it would soon be out of business!
Having said that, I know what you mean - I still prefer to take what little gambling budget I have over to Cal-Neva, where it at least feels as though they're not draining you on the tables and machines because they have a hotel and restaurant business to subsidize.
