The Hawkster has been on the road again for his (desired anyways) monthly trip to the Biggest Little.
Since he was sick the entire time, things are a bit befuddled.
But here's a try at it.

As usual, his drinking buddy hit a Royal while the Hawk had his usual allotment: NONE>>>>>

The Hawk won a couple of bucks overall, about enough to pay for the gasoline. But Lady Hawke managed to bury those miniscule wins with her
losses.

Still in all, as per usual, a GREAT trip. Too sick to visit the sickos at Shooters so no update on that.
Speaking of which, the news today said that 1 in 4 New Yorkers has Herpes. You can bump that to 4 of 4 for Shooters except when the VisitReno Board members are visiting. Then I think it is 5 out of every 4.

Found a new penny machine that I liked. Won first couple times, then lost next few times. We are not talking big money though. It was Noah's Ark at the Pep. Patterned after Twin Win which I like.

VP quarters was brutal as usual.

Tried a friend's dollar machine at Eldo and lost on it.
But tried M2B's Big Ben (pennies) and did hit the top jackpot of $74. It was back up to $114 when I left town but I did not hit it the only other time I got to play it. It was quite popular. Either being played or a smoker next to it so that I couldn't play.

Drew a PPMillion coupon for $10 bucks off at Oceano. We ordered two senior lunches for 3.99 each and they refused to let us use the CREDIT coupon. so we paid full price at $14 for two and the 10 buck credit only cost us 4 bucks.
I should have expected this as the Pep did this before to me in the Steak House and the manager threatened to call Security and have me arrested because of my expressed unhappiness over his arrogance.

Oceano's manager was decidedly nicer and we even came back (at her suggestion) for an early bird dinner and were allowed to use my bride's birthday letter for that. Pleasant surprise. Also I recommend the early bird dinner. Kind of a captain's plate for about $12-14 with shrimp, scallops, and fish. More than we could eat.

In essence, things are never as they seem at the Pep. So beware of "so-called FREEBIES". Same in gift shop - lots of restrictions.

Were told they are shooting for opening the Bubba's BBQ by July 4 weekend.
Old pool is now open with a guard on door checking for room keys.

I love the ambience of the High Roller rooms in tuscany. It is going to be tough when they stick me in the old tower. (eat your heart out, mammoth gambler)

BTW, Lady Hawke won a free night in a spa suite. Does anyone know - if we should book that right away - will we get a redone room?
If so, I'd like to go back in a couple weeks and avail myself of that.

My wings are tired of flapping. The Hawkster will now nap a bit and hope the antibiotics kick in soon. It's disappointing to experience this while in Reno and then bring it back home --- even without a trip to the germ-infested Shooters.

pLAYED in the Siena slot tourney and placed 24th. Paid 20 places - story of my life -- like watching my friend hit a Royal every time we play together.

Also went to the Floor Play show at Eldo. I didn't expect much. I really thought we'd most likely walk out in middle of show. However, it started with a bang when a lovely young showgirl surprised the Hawkster with a kiss on the lips -- before the show. It did get my attention.

The show was surprisingly very entertaining. Lots of activity. They gotta be very tired after the show. After the show, they got away fast -- they must not have even showered though they had to need them badly. I went to restroom and as I was returning to casino, I glanced over to see a bright smile on a young lady's face as she approached. She brushed my arm and told me goodnight. What: No second kiss???
Anyway the whole cast seemed to be leaving together about 5 minutes after the show. Only one of the girls was announced as being from the U.S. Three from Australia, plus England, Berlin, and a host of others. Just thought about this: I don't believe there were any minorities, unless one or two had a bit of Spanish blood.
the female lead singer had a great voice.

Next up is a C. Soleil type show, Hyperion, I think it's called. I'd like to see that but doubt they'll send me tickets. If so, I'll go.

Too bad you were feeling sick for this trip, but isn't it amazing what we can put our sick bodies through in Reno, when we can't get off the couch at home?

How did Lady Hawk win the free spa room?

I'm going to look for the Noah slot, I too like the twin win, though it's so volatile in paying. I put a $5 in the machine with my daughter watching, the first pull, 2 of the mermaid thingy's come up, and I'm bitchin' about how you never get three for a scatter, they only block the good stuff, these words were hanging out in the air over us when the second pull brought all of them in. I was playing a 2 center, so it was several hundred dollars off that 5.....

Hi Hawk! Sorry you werent feeling completely up to par on your trip. Doesnt that just drive you nuts, having to sit and watch your friend win? Dawn does that to me all the time too. Thats really lame that the Pep did not let you use that coupon. Does the coupon say there are restrictions? I have never won one of those, so i am not familiar with them. If you reserve a spa suite, go for the top floor. I think those are remodeled already. Not positive though. Im sure someone around here knows

Alison, thanks for suggestions. Pep staff say it has a disclaimer. I say it doesn't read that way. It just said it was a credit against your bill. they say: yeah, but you got the early bird, or the senior meal, or some other such special. Therefore it doesn't apply. So beware: If you get any coupons, etc., from Pep, you must pay FULL PRICE for the product or service.

As for my friend, I Love to see him win. I am happy for him. I bring him luck. But he buys me beer and dinner and draws beautiful women to us like a magnet. What more of a share could I ask?

And I do feel better after three days on antibiotics. Encouraged anyway.

Dont get me wrong, i too am happy for her. It would be better though if we both could go on winning streaks. Laughing

So on the preview magazine, it now states to stop by the information booth for more valuable coupons. Are they handing out discount coupons now? Anyone know?

Yeah i would maybe complain about that coupon thing to upper management at the Pep. I have a few peopel i e-mail there, so maybe they can answer that for me.

I didn't really want to comment on your new gross avatar, but, those aren't wings you're a flappin'!

Try not to let John's constant winning get you down. If you live that close to the Peppermill you'd better be lucky!

Hey, Dave, I didn't mention my "friend" by name.
Maybe it was J but maybe it was my "other" friend. Gee, can't a guy have TWO friends? Wink

And just what is "gross" about those pecs? Did you hear about my "tassel dance" at Shooters? Seems that was a big hit at the time.
Or was the "big hit" when you, John, and Jerry all hit the floor at the same time? Twisted Evil Had I been there at the time, it would likely have been "four on the floor".

Thank you Dave, for accurately describing the Hawkster's new avatar. I didn't want to be the first. I'm trying to find a way to keep Hawk near because I seem to do better when he's around. You've brought me some luck in the past also, as I recall. Your checks are in the mail.

Aw, now you've gone and made us feel bad. Your Avie is OK but you should probably leave the sexy department to Erin and Alison.

If you need help with uploading new Avatars I could e-mail you and attach a holographic J.M. (You know, like on Star Trek).
