This last trip I found a newer machine that I liked very much. But, that is likely because I happened to win on it. Next 6-10 times, I may not like it. The game was a Williams machine: Game of Dragons II. I do not remember a Dragon I but I don't always keep up. Anyway it was fun.

BTW, for those of you who were asking a while back. I saw several of the Dead Hamster games but did not win on a single one of them. Neither did my wife. So we don't like them anymore. Smile I even got TWO hamsters on the same screen without collecting. I didn't even know there were two in the game. I guess we simply can't control "Breeding Hamsters".

OTOH, maybe the Dead Hamster is not as Dead as I thought. I may have to re-name the game.

Why doesn't anyone come out with a slot machine about cockatoos? I'd play that.

Hawk, was the dead hamster game at the Peppermill or somewhere else? I recall their being two, but then they disappeared. Are they back? Keep trying on it, the bonus rounds are a riot.

yeah, it was at the Pep but now gone for a few months.

Bonus rounds, yes, are fun but also rare, especially lately.

I follow the 3 banks of new machines at the Pep, check them each trip.
They are starting to have a "sameness" to them. Not exciting, not too original. they also seem to pay less than they used.
Invariably, they soon disappear completely. I never see (I should say, "very rarely see) these machines anywhere else in the state.

It makes me think that it a deal with the local company, IGT, to try out their new machines and see how they work and how popular they are.
When they hit the floor, they are at once popular but that soon dies after everyone has tried them.

Lots of Asian themes to these also it seems.

I was thinking about this message I wrote last month when I read some stuff from Mammoth G. It said casinos "lease out areas" to others. I think they must be leasing these areas to IGT. Then lately, IGT has cut the payoffs. Any thoughts from others?

Couldn't comment authoritatively. On some level, I enjoy tracking some of the processes that feed into what we see on the casino floor - but so often, I just find myself lost in a sea of pretty lights, drink in hand, wondering which wacky-graphics machine has the best sound effects for my meager few bucks.

sTAN, your note made me think about something from MG.
He mentioned the counters on sides of slots. I am anxious to see if I can figure those out. And if they will educate me better as to where to turn for the "most indigency".

Well, I was just having fun, but if IGT are the actual initials of one of the actual slot machine manufacturers, it's funny that those initials *could* be used to spell "INDIAN GAMING TRIBES"

Or IGT could stand for "I Got Troubles" or even "I Got Tremors" when I meet John on Tues nite.

IGT could stand for, "I Got Trixie"!!!

As a follow-up to this thread:
No, I don't much like Gam e of Dragons II anymore. As predicted, I have never won on it again.
Same with Dead Hamster. don't play it anymore.

Likewise Noah's Ark never seems to have animals anymore.

Did play Reel Rich Devil and hit ONCE on it. But not again.
Also my wife hit on Jewels of the Night once. I have never much liked it. So I played it and, ofn course, LOST.

So, as said before: Just depends onn when you sit down at a machine.

Wow, I can't type this a.m. I'm outta here.

My wife likes the newer Red Rooster and Stonehenge. Pep now has at least a half dozen of each. Two months ago, they seemed OK (the first two only). Since then, they seem tighter, now that they have installed more.
I don't feel the payoffs are very large on these. I rarely get anything on them anyway.

I notice, on a lot of newer machines, that the Bonus Rounds are pretty useless. One plays a half hour and a buncha money to get the Bonus. Then, finally, it appears and pays you a buck or two. Very disappointing. On many of these, I do better on Regular pay lines than I do on the Bonus Lines.

In summary, Penny machines are fun but pay little overall and it is hard to sustain playing time without a big bankroll.
