Okay, as promissed, here is my review of this "legendary Shooters."

Got into Reno at 5:30pm on Superbowl Friday. After some middleweight consumption to take the edge off of going into this place, we decide to head out. It is about 12:30am.

I get a phone call from a couple of friends who work security at one of the casinos. They ask where we are going that night, and we tell them "We got to go check out this Shooters place. Their response, "you don't want to go there. They will kill you." I laugh and hang up. Talk to a police officer and ask where it is, and he says, "You want to get killed or something?" Okay, my curiosity is now out of control.

Walk outside the Silver Legacy, and lo and behold, there it is. My response:

"Is that it?! You have got to be kidding."

We walk across the street, and I look at the handmade sign. Underneith it says "Cold beer, Hot Women." My response:

"You have got to be kidding."

We go inside, find that it is inhabited by a drunk Irishman who is actually lying on the bar. A guy from Finland is sitting next to him laughing. Two women are playing pool. They actually look normal.

We order a round, and wait for the carnage to start up. Ho hum, ho hum. My friends look at me and say:

"You've got to be kidding."

No one asked for SuperGlue. No one got stabbed. In fact, I think the people inside were more surprised to see us in our uppermiddle class attire than anything else.

We finally leave. My friend takes home a souvioner glass- I don't think it was included with the price of the drink, but hey...

We tell all our friends that we hung out at Shooters and made it home alive. Their response:

"You got to be kidding."

Fun trip overall!!!

The truth is out! Although it's a little seedy and perhaps even a bit scary, the real danger at Shooters is you may die of boredom. Was the waitress with the poorly fitting clothes there? She can be entertaining.

Dave, "You've got to be kidding"

Her clothes fit just fine. Wasn't her belt supposed to be hanging mid-thigh?

Yeah you're right as usual John, I guess I should have worded it "unusual fitting clothes". Hey Hawk, how do you like my new "Avian" avatar? Just trying to fit in with you "flighty" moderators. And Corvalis...I will make good on my offer for a "Shooters" avatar if you're interested. Of course given my present one I will understand if you decline.

"Flapping biannually to Shooters and the Fireside."

Wow, it's too much to absorb. First an Avian avatar and now this great (though nearly plagiaristic) signature line.

Dave, you are definitely THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep flapping, my man. You are stroking the mods in a positive way.

BTW, I just spent last evening at the Fireside with Guess Who???
Wow, 22 beautiful Brazilian waitresses. When I asked one particular lovely why she was sitting in the booth with Guess Who and Me, she replied, "Well, I am allowed to sit with the customers when they are as nice as you guys." Whoopee, John must have really been on his good behaviour last night.

Also, I measured her lovely long black hair. It was 4 inches shorter than John's....... Wink

Wow Jerry, a Tuesday with John at the Fireside. Dollar imported beers. That's hard to beat. And 22 Brazilian waitresses too. Oh Baby! Can't wait till I'm there in May. Shooters may have to wait til Wednesday! Thanks for not being too hard on me for taking a tip or two from your signature line. Plagiarism is the sincerest form of flattery. Thanks for positive feedback too. BC Dave
