Back safely in OR over the icy roads. Thankful to be home for Christmas.
I wish you all the merrriest of Christmasses.

No, we didn't win em all. Not even very many. Usual trip. Lots of losing, littel winning. Excuse the spelling. It's dark here.

No Royals. I still can't believe that I cannot get a royal in Reno in spite of playing 8 to 12 hours per day on trips over a week long. Frustrating.

In fact, my friend hit one sitting next to me. I am happy for him and do not begrudge the happening at all. Just wish that I ALSO could get a few.

We did have one good night during the eight day trip. I hit 4 ACES for $200 and five minutes later, my wife hit the same for $400 - she had the kicker.
Then later (hear this Gambler from Wherever) I tried the 10X for second time during trip and hit the two 10Xs with a Red 7 for $500. This was all in the same night and got us close to even for a bit but it went south bigtime after that. BTW, all these 3 wins were at the Pep and all were on machines we had never played before.

So, overall, a fun trip (as always) but financially a disaster.

More later on non=gambling issues.

Jerry, I haven't hit a Royal in Reno for years. Janice and I got one at a Washington casino earlier this year ( a dime machine for $400). Some people never get 'em. It's certainly fun to get one though. You just want to stare at it for awhile.

Merry Christmas to you and Becky.

The new Tuscany rooms are a very large spectacular WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We were blessed to spend 3 nights there on a comp. Will never happen again as Pep sees me a a "low roller" whereas I see me as a "Big loser".

More later when I can get some computer time. That needs to be a longer discussion for all else Alison will kill me.

OOOOHHH, it feels good already.
Boy, if my wife ever reads this post (and many others likely) I am in big trouble.

Gotta make you wait and salivate for the Tuscany words.
Actually we have not had computer access. Also time is very short.
Later guys and gals.

John, I still love the board and appreciate you and your efforts.

Wow, I am confused as Chuck Berry is "Hailing Rock and Roll" right now on my stereo. Hard to concentrate on typing.

Jerry,

Thanks for the multi-part trip report, and congrats on your wins!

"Then later (hear this Gambler from Wherever) I tried the 10X for second time during trip and hit the two 10Xs with a Red 7 for $500."

I'm so glad to hear someone else hit it, especially with 2 10X symbols! Were you playing the 2 or 3 coin model? No one else has had any luck so it's good to hear.

Thanks again and best of luck on your next trip!

I played both at one time but I was only playing a single coin when I hit the 500. That was a reach for me on my retired pay.

Jerry,

That's awesome...BUT YOU WERE ONLY PLAYING ONE COIN WITH A HIT LIKE THAT?!?!?!?!?!? haha

With 2 10X symbols and a red 7, if you would've been playing 2 credits (on the 2 credit machine) you could've had 10K, and playing 3 credits (on the 3 credit machine) could've gotten you 15K!

But, a win's a win and that's what matters.

Mammoth G:
Actually the machines I played only payed an "extra" amount if you hit the one top jackpot. In this case, that would have been three 10Xs.
Everything else just payed twice for one coin as what it payed for one coin. Since I don't play for the max, I was happy. I received the same "rate of pay" as if I had played two coins.

Jerry, great to hear from you and get a trip report, even if it's a lemon.

Glad you had a chance to check out the swanky new digs at the Peppermill.

In fact, all Pep fans will be glad to hear that my brother took my advice and gave the Peppermill a try after his visit to the burning-man thingy a while back - he got one of those gratuitous, unexplained upgrades to a suite, and while the downside was that the jacuzzi thingy turned out to be broken, he gave the entire deal a hefty two thumbs up.

As for me, I'm safely back from a non-Reno trip, which wouldn't be pertinent to the board, but I hope everyone had as Merry a Christmas as did I!

Jerry, sorry to hijack your trip report!

-Stan

p.s. - "TUSCANY TOWER" can be rearranged to spell "TASTY RENO CUW", though I haven't figured out what "cuw" is yet.
