Reno's first celebrity chef restaurant opened last weekend at the Grand Sierra, Charlie Palmer's steak house and Fin Fish seafood restaurant. More details:

Grand Sierra does seem to be serious about upgrading the property. We were there for a Hot August Nights event and it was my impression that the gambling conditions had improved compared to when it was the Hilton. There was a better selection of blackjack games (even a $1 game) and there seemed to be fewer shoes and shuffle machines. I don't know if that was just for Hot August Nights or if they are permanent changes. Time will tell. |

Kind of sad that this is the "first" celebrity chef to show up in Reno. Perhaps it is the start of something bigger. Good luck to GSR- I also thought it is a nice property. |
