I didn't receive any mailers from ElDo/SL/CC last year and was starting to think I'd never see one again. Finally got a 2 free nights mailer for February!

That's interesting. Did you increase your play or visit more often in 2017? It makes me wonder if their business was down last year and they're looking for more.

Nope - I only visit once a year in February and gamble at $10-$15 BJ for 4-5 hours a day.

Unfortunately the offer only goes until the end of February. I called to see if they would extend the offer one more day but they declined.

I would normally suggest contacting a host, but my ElDo host tightened things up, a couple of years ago. So I dumped them all, after 25+ years. Things changed for the worse, when all 3 became owned by one.
I now do nearly all my business with the Pepp, Atlantis, and Grand Sierra. Better games, too. Plenty of offers, and a good host at each.

I've still been getting monthly offers from Silver Legacy.

Got my March trip all booked! Airfare with $99 flights from Seattle? Check. 3 nights comped at SL in my favorite panoramic room category? Check. Slot machines will be so loose and I will win a ton of money? Che...okay I know what the odds are of that! But as the old Meat Loaf song goes, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

So for those of you jonesing for a trip report, I will have one in March. See you soon, Reno! Very Happy

I also got my SL offer with two nights. Booked for February.

Hey Siren, did you see that Alaska is now sending smaller jets (CRJ-200) on two of the trips instead of the larger Bombardier Q400 props?

And that damn SEA-RNO route is NEVER on sale.

Hey Zydeco! Good to hear from you. No, I had not noticed that about the smaller planes. I just checked my flights and I am on an E75 on the way down to Reno (never been on that kind of plane before) but it appears to be the same size as the Q400. Then I'm on the Q400 coming home. Yeah, that CRJ-200 looks really small, like less than 50 people!

Between some smaller planes and the lack of Alaska sales from Seattle I am thinking business is not good between Seattle and Reno. That's a shame, but it will never stop me from going to my beloved Reno.

Yeah, it took a long time for a sale to happen. For years it seemed I was always able to get good sales around Black Friday/Cyber Monday but that did not happen last year. I was bummed about that as I got $79 flights in 2016. Since I refuse to pay $139 each way I kept holding out for a sale. It finally went down to a $99 sale each way earlier this month so I snagged that figuring it wasn't going to go any lower (but you had to fly on Tue/Wed/Sat to get that price). Yeah I know $99 is only $40 cheaper than $139 but it's the principle of the matter too to pay nearly $300 round trip to fly somewhere that's only a 90 minute flight away (I paid less than $300 base fare to go all the way to Cabo and back coming up here in February - and I did get that price on Alaska's Black Friday sale)! And let's face it, that $80 saved round trip can be spent on more practical, responsible things like putting it into slot machines! Laughing

Have a great trip, Zydeco! Enjoy those martinis at Roxy!

Siren, I also did the Black Friday booking and I was also amazed that I really found nothing. Last year our BF booking as super at $79 as well. This year, I had to go for the $159 (Thurs-Sun). Hell, I'll win that back.

Or I'll just enjoy my normal 2-3 Irish Coffees at Sea-Tac before the flight and won't care.

I normally hit Reno two or three times/year .... except this year.

It's been nearly a year and the offers are starting to come in now.

But this thread specified DOWNTOWN offers.
Nothing from Comstock, Virginian, Siena, Cal Neva, Golden Phoenix, Harrah's or Diamonds.

But there's always a Sands, Boomtown (three nights including a Fri & Sat), GSR (two night/calendar mo. ... last two nights in Feb/first two nights March? ) and the sometimes honored Atlantis calendar that can sometimes be parlayed.

So I'm building my spreadsheet for another marathon trip. Unfortunately my "on the fly" trip report may not happen this year. My personal mobile hot spot has died (so much for that "good for life" promise). And I hate using hotel Wi Fi.

I would encourage anyone to try GSR (thanks to Mammoth Gambler) and Boomtown (if you have wheels). Boomtown is not only generous in their WEEKEND/3 night offer, but included is generous free play/meal comps.

So unless we do a "Go fund me" hot spot replacement, y'all are going to have to settle for an after the fact trip report. These often do not include the details that might be forgotten in a late report.

More later.

I received a LOT of December offers (related to my birthday), but as a confirmed driver, that was out of the question.

Oh, almost forgot... It appears I am now on a regular "2 free nights mid week at the SL, Eldo, Circus mega casino now.

Interesting you mention Boomtown - my buddy and I have never been but will be trying out this place due to their 'First $25 on Us' promotion.

I went to GSR for the first time last year and loved it. We went to the bowling alley at like 8am on a Thursday and were only 2 of maybe 8 people there. I remember walking over to that little cove of a bar on the far side of the alley and being surprised it was open, and bartop VP! I love those hidden bartop VP places similar to Four Queens Chicago Brewing Co in Las Vegas.
