This is great!

I do know that the $2 "mystery fee" at Harrah's isn't truly a resort fee, but is that mysterious water/city/utility tax thing that everyone seems to charge. Just a quick heads up that if you're staying there on a comp at any player level, they'll usually waive it.

Once again Vegas shows Reno (hope no one hears) how to REALLY screw the tourist. ( 1L = $ 1.56 or so) This from the UK Daily Mail:

(And where's MY Santa Suit?)

"British holidaymakers hit with hidden resort fees of up to £50 A DAY after booking ‘too good to be true’ deals at hotels in Las Vegas,"

"Expedia and Hotels.com failed to adequately show the $28-per-day fee to stay at Las Vegas' Wynn Hotel"

Here is an excerpt from a RGJ story on Casino surcharges with a link that may or may not work for you:

Legislature: Room surcharge tops RSCVA agenda
Bill O’Driscoll 11 p.m. PST January 31, 2015
=============

But for now, the front-burner issue is the surcharge.

The idea, Baum said, is to expand the existing $2 per-room fee at downtown Reno hotels to nine major properties across the Truckee Meadows, and possibly raise the rate to $3.

Earlier this month, the USBC signed off on contract revisions that boost the per-bowler fee the RSCVA pays from $20 to $30 for tournaments starting in 2016.

That money will be covered by the Reno-Sparks area's nine major hotels: Silver Legacy, Harrah's, Sands, Eldorado and Circus Circus downtown; the Grand Sierra Resort east of downtown; the Peppermill and Atlantis resorts in south Reno; and the Nugget in Sparks.

But longer term, the revised contract also calls for another $10 added to the per-bowler fee for events between 2016 and 2026, raising it to $40, a level more in line with what other markets pay the USBC.

Here is an update to Silver Legacy's resort fees which are now at a ridiculously high amount. As of September 2016:

Resort Fee $15.00 per day plus $2.03 tax and a Tourism Surcharge of $3.00. So a grand total of $20.03 per day!

I should point out that SL does NOT charge the resort fees/taxes on comped nights.
