Just returned from my daughters wedding at Lake Tahoe. All of the wedding arrangements were handled by Harvey's Tahoe, and they did a wonderful job. The reception also was at Harvey's, and I must say the food was excellent. The weather and setting a Tahoe was beautiful.

After 3 days of scrambling around Tahoe on wedding matters we had little time for the Tables. However I did play a bit at the Horizon "Hoover" and managed to squeeze out a few bucks. Mostly played 9/6 VP at the Bar at the Horizon, and only held my own.

FYI the Cabaret Show, at the Horizon "Chipper Lowell" or whatever, was well.........pretty much awful and over priced at $29.95!

On Sunday we headed back to Reno for some R&R and Craps action. Started at the Nugget in Sparks, and was thoroughly pounded into submission by their Craps Table (which I swear has teeth), and gobbled up most of my daily budget. Tried the Eldorado and played scratch Craps for a couple hours and managed to leave the table without any bleeding.

Monday as we had a number of "Newbies" down from Oregon for the Wedding, we kind of made a grand tour of the Reno Casino's. First we ran around downtown hitting almost all but Circus Circus. Played the "Hoovers" at Harrah's, Cal-Neva, Eldorado. Held my own down town as I managed a few hundred dollar win at the old Cal-Neva (3-4-5 Odds).
Went out to the Peppermill, Craps table dead played some penny slots (Penny my hiney), and salvaged a few bucks on 9/6 VP upstairs.

Tuesday started at the Nugget and ended at the Western Village in Sparks. Played the WV's Hoover and dropped more than I should have, but everyone seemed to be having a lot of fun and wining on the slots. The WV still has single deck Blackjack with friendly dealers and great floor people on days. One of our ladies grabbed $1600 out of a Money Storm Machine, and another hit $450 in some dang Penny Machine, and still does not have any idea what in the hell she hit.

General over all comments:
1. "Big Deal" the railroad trench. Nice not to go over tracks, but what does it really do for the Casinos?
2. Conversion of the old Casinos, Flamingo Hilton, Comstock, probably the Sundowner seems crazy to me.
3. Downtown Reno just isn't the same!
4. Ticket in Ticket out machines everywhere.......dang it!
5. Food very good at the Eldorado, Harrah's, Siena, and Western Village.
6. Western Village Steak House one of if not best in Reno.
7. Harrah's new show "Let the Good Times Roll" (Really can't remember the name), was very good and 2 For 1 Coupons available at the Total Rewards Desk.
8. Big things appear to be planned for the Reno Hilton.
9. New $500 Million Resort Hotel (1000 Rooms) and Shopping Center
planned on the Marina Lake in Sparks. Have always wondered why the
Western Village didn't buy the rat-trap Motel and build a tower next to
Lake.
10. Fandango Casino in Carson City, looks like a mini-Peppermill. Has
$1.00 Craps and real friendly crew.
11. Horizon and Monteblu (old Caesar's Palace) under new ownership.
Horizon has begun a remodel.
12. Watched a guy playing Craps with a 2 Inch Stack of $100 Bills. The
guy had a couple rows of $100 Chips, which he used on the Line, but
placed the numbers with 5 $100 Bills. Strange, then again I think all
of us who play the "Hoovers" are a bit strange. Now......where in the
hell are my Craps Gloves?

Well that is kind of the story and I'm sticking to it. Oh.......well yes Yo Man wasn't entirely skunked, but when the dust all settled......yep I lost money.

Yo Man over and out..............

Thanks for posting your trip report.

What a beautiful place to get married. Sounds like it all went well.

So someone won $1600.00 on a money storm? WOW!! What were they betting to win that. I know that those are a 20 line machine. The bets can get steep.

Wedding was on a sandy beach right at Stateline. Weather was great, and her wedding pictures looking out over the lake at sunset were really remarkable. (Just received the proofs today.) The only real glitch at the wedding was the dang Limo driver failed to return to the beach to pickup the Mother and Father of the Bride! The "Kids" apparently went for a ride............probably to drink up the remaining "Spirits" in the Limo, and forgot.......MOM AND DAD! (We hitched a ride on a passing Tour Trolley Bus, which under the circumstances when out of his way to return us to Harvey's)

Right now all I know is that my friend had a slot ticket for the amount of $1600.00. She said she won on the Money Storm machine. I will try to find out how much, and how many times she hit some kind of bonus or whatever.

Yo Man......over and out!
