I miss Harold's Club, the Mapes, the Riverboat, The Comstock, The Colonial Inn, The Pioneer Inn, The Riverside, The Flamingo Hilton, The Horseshoe Club, The Holiday and others that my long term memory synapses don't fire on too well. I was in them all except for the Mapes, which I only was able to admire from Virginia Street. Those were the days! I don't care what the hoodlums at my door say!

All it took was a little visual stimulation. I remember it well now that I can see it. Thanks for the blast from the past.

It was great talking to you last night. Here's the War of the Worlds we talked about. The music starts at around 4:15.

How about a version of "War of the Worlds" where the Martians are on the edge of total domination of earth, but succumb to the perils of gambling addiction, loose their fortunes and are sent packing for a desolate life on Neptune? Or Uran.. Nah, Neptune will do.

One can go too far with dwelling on the past, but that's where the best stuff is/was!

There was, for example, something uniquely fun about stumbling through the Flamingo Hilton in the middle of the night, and then using that weird tunnel pass-through thing to their secondary little casino that faced Virginia street, while reveling all the while, only to sack out at dawn for a couple of hours at the Sundowner....yes, I had been to Vegas by the time I got into this stuff in Reno, but Reno had an intimate charm that was not to be found in Vegas.

Yay, memories!

Vegas can't hold a candle to the Persona Reno had and still
has today!

I have said it before but I will say it again.

I would MUCH rather go to Reno than Vegas.

The problem is that I know live in San Diego again so Reno is easily a 9-10 hour drive while Vegas is 4.5

I know I can fly but I enjoy the drive.

Love those mazes that Reno loves build. The Cal Neva was a tough one to figure out with it's three floors at the front and two in the back. Hidden escalators and if you can find it, even one elevator. The Eldorado is still easy to get a little lost in as is the Peppermill and (to a lesser extent) the Atlantis. Love the mazes - you eventually get where you wanted to go, if you can remember where that was.

For me the Peppermill is the toughest, with all the Mirrors!
