Last week I made a quick , last minute trip to Reno for two nights. My first stop every trip is the Gold Ranch for a great $3.99 pancake breakfast and some fuel. I don't know why they don't plow or even shovel the snow off this place. It was very icy everywhere with the very cold temperatures.

We headed out to Reno and we found the streets to be very icy. By the way- the temperatures in Reno never got above freezing. Normally, we would run around to check out different areas of Reno, but it was just too cold and icy for me, so we parked at the Atlantis parking area and never moved until we drove home.

We spent a lot of time in the casino and my wife had good luck, but nothing seemed to hit for me. It was a losing trip. However, due to our heavy play, all the meals were covered by the earned comps. I still have about $75 left for my next trip. I also got moved up a notch in card level. I suspect I will receive some good offers due to our heavy play.....but we will see. ??

Someone mentioned they don't want to hear about big hits, so this report will not include any on this Reno trip. However, I had great luck in November and received $6,334.00 in taxable forms. Yes, I brought it all home.

We drove home New Years Eve and noticed very heavy traffic heading to Reno and Lake Tahoe.

Sorry to hear your end of the year trip to the Atlantis was less than profitable. I think practically everyone would like to hear of successful trips including jackpot amounts. Was it my comment that made you think that we don't want to hear about big wins? Maybe I should edit or delete it.

I used to visit Reno in the winter and often stayed at the old Colonial and walked to Virgina Street. Some of the sidewalks would be extremely treacherous! I don't imagine they're any better now.

Any trip, whether a gaming loser or winner, is worth a post. I, for one, did not know of a $3.99 pancake breakfast at the Gold Ranch, proving that there is always something to learn.

Thanks for the report!

p.s. - I think the Atlantis should showcase an in-house celebrity performance; the singer will be, "Atlantis Morrisette"
