Wow, the Eldorado must be doing pretty well - They're about to buy up the 1/2 of the Silver Legacy that they don't already own and all of Circus Circus to boot! (Story Here.)

They're not doing all that well, Dave. I loaned them the money.

John,

I'm surprised you had that much left, after all those bad loans you made to Greece. Hope this one turns out better.

Wonder what they'll call the new configuration? My vote is for EldoLegaCircus, although close behind are Kings Inn 2 and Downtown Reno.

That is interesting. I wonder if they have some big plans for all that real estate? MGM has been selling off a lot of their minor casino holdings. Perhaps the Eldorado will also buy Harrah's across the street as they are trying to sell that property.

Good investment John. I will guess as a major player in the deal, you will now be able to get a free beer while playing video poker at the El Dorado, Silver Legacy and even the Circus Circus.

Interestingly enough (to me anyway) each of the other two casinos have about twice the # of rooms as Eldo. So, they will quintuple their rooms.

comp nights for all visitreno board members --anytime, John???

I don't remember where I read that information. I also read that Harrah's wants to sell at least one of the casinos at Lake Tahoe. All three of them are losing money.

I think all of Harrahs Casinos have taken W. C. Fields moto
to heart. Never give a sucker an even break!

It'd have to be Harvey's...as Bill Harrah hated him.
I'm 99% certain they'll never WILLINGLY give up Harrahs Reno or Harrah's Lake Tahoe (We were at HLT for the 4th of July..BELIEVE ME it was JUMPING 24/7!)
Harrahs Reno was the FIRST in the empire...so it's probably set in a trust somewhere to NEVER be sold...
