From Downtown Reno Makeover, a report of a light at Kings Inn, possibly the first sign of life there in five plus years!

Or maybe a couple of rooms of comatose, drinker/gambler/super-drinkers just woke up from a 30 year sleep.

Or is it "Back to the Future"?
Been a long while. Think all the Reno hotels have dropped me from their mailing lists.
Like to say back alive and well but, heck, "alive" ain't all bad.

Best I could do was sneak in the back door of Kings Inn with the street people. The light must have come from a 4 year old BCDave seegar I was carrying around.

Perhaps next summer opportunity will allow me to once again visit the "biggest Little".

Glad to see the board is still alive and thriving. John could not have picked a better moderator to replace the departed Hawkster.

Hello to all and best wishes for the New Year.

Only one football team (the National Champs) can have a better record than my Alma Mater, the MARSHALL THUNDERING HERD at 13-1.

Holy (Something)! Welcome back Hawk! Thank you for your vote of confidence on my moderating job. I took the position on one condition - that I wouldn't have to do anything. Actually I did put up some Christmas Avatars and Stan has been particularly pleased with his. Bless his soul - he keeps the Christmas spirit going all year 'round.

Have you been in touch with Jerry? He is sorely missed around here. I know he can be hard to track down. He plays baseball most of the year and goes Sasquatch hunting in his spare time.

It's extra good to hear from you. A Fireside Tuesday meeting with John and our significant others is way overdue.

Flapping annually to the Biggest Little City!

An exciting new casino featuring full pay video poker, single deck blackjack and Fat Tire Ale on tap has opened just off the strip in downtown Reno!! Slots are rumored to be smokin' hot!!!

(I've been known to make stuff up once in a while.)

Can't do that. The Peppermill won't allow Charlie and Higgins in the building.

What did you make up? I was downtown and actually saw that exact sign on the King's Inn.

About time you got you butt back on the board, Hawk. Keep it up.

Glad you asked Dave. And thanks to all you other well-wishers "as well".
It is nice to be remembered.

Jerry is OK. While he went down with a new knee, his spouse came down with the Big C. They are both recovering. Thus no Reno, etc for well over a year.

Jerry also has a full shoulder tear to deal with and a torn/ pulled muscle.
But, hey, he checks the obits daily in the early a.m. before arising. So far, so good.

I will pass on all your kind thoughts.

We both miss all you guys and this board. I'll try to check it occasionally.
Hey, I miss Reno.... I miss John... I miss those fireside chats and watching John tear up the video poker while I pump 20s into them. Shoot, hard to say this, but I'd like to meet BC Dave and his better half.
As well as many other board members.

Hawk, I know that all of Jerry's fans, on this board, would like to extend their best wishes to Jerry and Becky. Please pass them along. Jerry is an inspiration to all of us who are not getting any younger (and that's most of us) but want to stay active. Hope they both feel much better soon and can celebrate good health with a trip to Reno before too long.

Jerry tells me that he walked about 2 1/2 miles in the rugged wilds of Sara Park today. That is a challenging piece of real estate to walk through.
Thanks, Dave, you are a fine man and much appreciated.
