I haven't walked in that place or stayed there for over 6 years and got the following offer in the mail yesterday.

2 nights free (no restrictions)
$100 free play
$30 food credit

Looking in October

That's a nice offer, I'll take it in heart beat.

And I was there in April and spent HOURS on that new craps machine and VP bartops. And I've not got any such offer....yet.

It's interesting because the latest issue of Casino Player Magazine is their "Best of" issue. Usual suspects Atlantis, Peppermill and a few Eldo/SL mentions, but know what was in there several times? Yep, Grand Sierra! Several, "really?" moments as I read the rankings.

From what I heard, at the beginning of the summer, they finally upgraded their outdoor signs, plunked way too much money down on another nightclub, and oh yeah, got involved in one of the biggest wage and overtime class action lawsuits in Reno's history, they say:

I haven't seen any mailers from them since I left Reno, but did happen to notice that I finally started getting the non-local offers again in my online account. 2 free nights and $25 in free play per month isn't a whole lot to brag about for me having Legend status there, IMHO, but I guess it's better than nothing, as I haven't played there since November.

Like they weren't bad enough already!!! I hope that everyone involved gets what is rightfully owed to them. I can't believe Casino Player rated them for anything decent, shame on them!

JSR that is amazing that they sent you that offer after so many years. I have not played at the GSR in more than two years and I get no offers from them. I played heavy on a new card-- $12K in one day and made the mistake of winning some of their money. I never got any offers for 6 months and then an offer for $69 room rate with no free play or dining. Normally that much action on a new player card would get you very nice offers to return. Strange.

I read that article that Mammoth linked and it is interesting. $50 million + all the legal fees would probably do them in.

The GSR is a very nice place with larger rooms and the casino is large and open, so smoking is not an issue. The video poker is not so good, so I really have little interest in going back.

That Casino Players magazine ranking is a joke. It is all about who can stuff the ballot box more than another casino. I get that magazine, but I am not going to renew for next year.

I cannot let a GSR comment go by without repeating....They should have used some of that nightclub money on repaving their parking lot.

I got signed up for one of there Mags, but never found anything of value
in it, so didn't reup the next year. Quit getting it but can't stop the emails
from them, even tried unsubing, but when I send it, it always comes back
undeliverable! Shame on them also!

spdmrcht,

I am not surprised with the email dilemma. The same thing happened on my end when I repeatedly tried to put in a change of address last year, and again earlier this year.

Hey, has anybody noticed that they finally redesigned their website - by simply keeping everything intact but changing the background colors to red and white? Haha! After all this time, I guess they're STILL having trouble finding decent help!
