Been a while since my last trip but gonna be in town thur afternoon. It will be a fun trip as usual. We are staying at the CalNeva as we always do. We have the cruise booked at Lake Tahoe out and around emerald Bay for Friday and gonna make our trip over to V-city on Sat. The rest of the time will be spent drinking/gamblin and having a good time.

Sorry Slacker, the board's been a bit quiet lately. Hope you're having a great time and the wins are piling up. Or as they would say on "Breaking Bad", "Makin' fat stacks man!" Looking forward to your trip report.

As usual we had a great time, rolled into Reno on thur night in a raining downpour which was short lived. Parked then went to check in, and this is where the BIG change comes. I have been stating at the CalNeva always as a comp for over 15 years, sometimes 4/5 times a year. This will be the last trip I will ever stay at that shit hole of a hotel, yes I have been blinded by the feeling of a free room for way to long.
1st the room I booked was not availible
2nd they could care less
3rd down to one poorly working elevator
4th they now rent rooms weekly & monthly was the kicker though.

We did the boat cruise at Tahoe (recommand the food at MacDuffs), spent part of a day ay Virgina City, had a few drinks at shooters, eat at in & out burger and spent the rest of the time gambling at the CalNeva. Crowds seemed kinda thin, found no poker machines with the double up feature and only hit red 32 a dozen times. We dont go to get rich just to have a good time, we did.
We will be back to Reno, soon as I scrape up the money for a decent room.

Sorry to hear that the hotel wasn't the agreeable bargain of days of yore, but I can only comment on the Cal-Neva casino; I've never looked in the lobby of the hotel.

But the casino, I'll defend to the death, either mine or its....

Hi Slacker. It's been a while since somebody mentioned Shooters besides me - How did that go? Sorry to hear the Cal Neva's Hotel let you down.

I was talking to a dealer at CN and she says that they rent rooms to a
lot of their employes.
