Hi, hope everyone is well, and greetings from Reno!

After coming back from a couple of days hiking in the Tahoe backcountry earlier in the week, we got back to Harrah's at around 2 am on Friday and I couldn't sleep. GAME ON!

Just wanted to share what had to be the biggest string of jackpots I've ever experienced in a 24 hour timeframe - from 3 am Friday to 3 am Saturday. Earlier this morning at the Grand Sierra Resort was just downright up-down-up-down scary, but I conquered it. Just to be on the safe side, Tessa and I walked to our storage unit earlier and hid all the cash, so as not to play anything back.

Here's my first top jackpot on the newest crop of $1 Blazing 7s at the GSR, which happened at about 2 am this morning for $1027. As I've mentioned before, the design on these machines is truly awesome - the reels are still traditional, but everything else is computerized. The fact that they threw in the "We're In The Money" song right before the usual tune that plays is a nice touch!

Just about an hour later, I tried out one of the $1, 2 credit, "Old Skool" Quick Hit 5 Times Pay 10 Times Pay machines. About $80 into it, I hit the progressive - first time ever - for $1014.12. Harrah's Reno actually has the brand new model of this machine as well as the Double Jackpot Blazing 7s. Fun.

(Click on the image to view the video clip. Listen carefully and you'll hear the virtual Shoot To Win Craps dealer's voice in the background hawking, "You can be the shooter! No more bets! Get to win with your own hands!" Wow, that craps game is evil...)

And here's the rest of 'em, in no certain order, between Harrah's, the Eldorado, the Silver Legacy, and the Grand Sierra Resort. (Note: Some scrolling may be required.)

I love this place...

That's quite a run, MG. Keep up the good work and you won't have to find work.

Oh, and Dave, this is the visitreno.com message board. It's OK to say {bleep} here. Oh, wait. Maybe it isn't.

Thanks John and BC Dave!

{BLEEP BLEEP} because I need to post an addendum to this report - and I guess rename it something more like, "72+ hours of jackpots!" Went back for another round afterwards, starting out with $200 for playback money - the rest had safely been moved to our storage unit and my prepaid debit cards.

Here's a few more hits. Just when I thought it was all over, I found yet ANOTHER kiosk of what appeared to be even newer Blazing 7s than the previous ones I spoke about and the ones you see here at the Grand Sierra. They must've just added this kiosk, because it wasn't there even last week. It also appears they took out the kiosk of my beloved 5 cent Double Jackpots : ( There are still three of the original Blazing 7s models scattered throughout the casino as standalones, which I usually don't play, but when your mainstreams are cashed, gotta do something! Pretty much wound up losing in them but getting it all back later.

Anyhow, I gave these new machines a whirl, and played the whole kiosk like I always do. Not to crack on my favorite machine, but this particular model was completely computerized, and almost reminded me of playing in an Indian Casino. But, a hit's a hit! I couldn't really capture it all in a group of still photos, but there's a high degree of animation in the 7s. They shrink and expand and the Blazing 7s actually making a booming noise when the hit the payline. The sparks around the fire fly and do their thing. Very different, but I think I like the mechanical reels much better.

After all this, I lost a bit - that damn 4 reel machine gave me 2 $300 hits earlier and I had to go back - to lose it! Those $23,000 + top progressives can be enticing, especially when you see them grow for months and see people finally hitting them. Oh well...

Now here comes the good part.

This afternoon brought us back across town to the Motel 6 next to the Pep. I'm down to needing only 3 Peppermillions letters - M, O, N, and got an O. Ran over to the kiosk of Blazing 7s there and the first thing I noticed is that the Double model in the middle hit again over the weekend and some lucky soul walked with about $6800. However, I noticed that the same machine I got the $2024 hit on a few weeks back was looming at around $1774, and a man was complaining about losing about $600 in it as he was sitting there getting ready to leave.

As mentioned before, even though it's all down to that random number generator and anything can happen at any time, I've found these high looming progressives on the models that reset at $1000 are golden - nine times out of ten, a jackpot is coming.

I pulled out my card and a $100, and to my dismay, he wasn't moving, but was rather just sitting in the chair watching his wife play the Diamond Line Frenzy. They were getting into an intricate conversation about wild diamond symbols and mixed hits, and after about 20 seconds, I politely started tapping my foot and I asked, "Excuse me sir, are you playing this machine?" He apologized and immediately got up.

$120 in, and lo and behold:

I've named this machine "Silent Bob." There's no sound, but it sure does pay.

What a profitable weekend! Time for a breather for a couple of days, and I'll see how things have progressed downtown when we're back at Harrah's. I gotta admit, actually being able to stay in an area to monitor the progressive meters has its advantages.

I think I might finally be caught up with trip reports - and Mammoth (since that's still your screen name), I've gotta say you deserve an award of some sort for all these reports, with their highly detailed verbiage mixed with meticulous photo documentation of jackpots won.

Considering all the drama and excitement, with its dizzying highs and terrifying lows, your material should be made into a book.

Keep up the good work!

Sweet Mother of Jackpots! Blazing 7s never does a {bleeping} thing for me. So that was a crazy good run.... and it again makes me wanna Blaze on, but I know better. Keep us posted on your continuing adventures. Also, an occasional update on culinary adventures/mis-adventures and any news on Shooters would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks, Stan and Lily, great to see you all!

Regarding Shooters - believe it or not I haven't been inside in about three years. I don't know what it is, but between my bout with walking pneumonia back in March (right when this nonstop gambling run started LOL) and getting the layoff call, I haven't really had a desire to go bar hopping much - must've been that stressful job back in Mammoth turned me into the bar hopper to begin with! Ditto for waiting countless minutes for cocktails at the machines - 9 times out of 10, I'll just crack open a can of Rockstar and mix up my own. Seems like every time I order one, I wind up playing through my bankroll waiting for it to get there. One thing I did notice about Shooters some time back was that they installed some type of smoke machine/mister at the front door for a dramatic effect as you enter. What cracks me up is that just about every time you pass by it on a windy day, you get sprayed a bit.

Haven't bumped into any new culinary delights yet, other than the ones posted in my past reports. I did get a chance to try the grill out at the Cal Neva a few weeks ago - got the hot dog special. Not to crack on the Cal Neva, but I think the Awesome Dog at the Little Nugget was slightly better. But still really good! Hopefully I'll get a chance to swing into the main restaurant there soon. Not sure what it is, but I've never been a big fan of breakfast food. For some reason, I keep finding myself inside the Buffet at the Eldorado - in addition to all the usual breakfast fare, there's usually a carving station and full salad bar as well - at 7:45 am! Can't shake a stick at $6.99, which is usually comped. I was notified I have $13 in food comps at the Circus Circus, but I don't know if I want to venture into any of their restaurants - that coconut air freshener that's pumped everywhere
doesn't really make me think about eating there.

OK, so it was back downtown on Monday. The Blazing 7s were pretty much bone-dry and all 6 of them looked like they had just hit. A couple of mixed hits here and there when playing the carousel.

After about an hour or so, I encountered a really tight one. About $200 in, and I thought I was done. Then, all of a sudden - WHAM! I unfortunately could only get a very short video clip as the attendant was there within about 45 seconds. But better than nothing...

(Click on the image to view the video clip.)

This was only my second top jackpot on the Blazing 7s at Harrah's (the other one being on that mad run I had in March on the machine to the left of it), but I gotta say, these things hit left and right here and it seems like I've missed several by seconds.

A few other random hits here and there between Harrah's, the Eldorado, and the Silver Legacy.

Back next to the Pep tomorrow, followed by the GSR this weekend. Maybe the whole thing will roll over and I'll have more good luck - hope so, because it seems the more hand pays you get, the more you're tempted to play!
