Hi All,

A few days ago I posted a new thread "Harrah's or Harvey's??" asking for tips and advice on our possible trip to So. Lake Tahoe, I posted it under "Reno Comments". I noticed that it has been removed, so I can only guess that I might have asked the question in the wrong section.....for this, I apologize. For any of you that may have answered, thank you.

Hey PEB, I'm at a loss as to what happened to your "Harrah's or Harvey's??" post. I didn't delete it from the board. As you've probably noticed, there are no rules on this board. Nobody cares where you post anything. It must have been a small problem with the database, that may have happened a couple of days ago when the site was down.

I lost TWO posts too. It was just before I sent you that "SITE CRASHED" e mail....which I forgot....you could not open since the site went down.

ONE was to PEB where I said Harvey's had a better view and long time employees.

And another to Larry the Legend that told him to say hi to the day shift bartendress at the Little Nugget and drop the $ 2 bill guy's name.

But damned if I'm going to apologize !!

I saw your post also and was ready to add some great information (as I always do...Ha). I came back to visitreno, and it was gone- the whole site....I would just get error messages.

Twilight zone? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-b5aW08ivHU

Hi All,

Thanks guys, I didn't know the site had problems. Looks like the mystery of the missing thread has been solved Very Happy

Anyway, I want to thank you for any info or tips you have to share about Harrah's and Harvey's in Tahoe. It's been well over 20 years since we've been there and we were thinking about going to Tahoe this year as a change. We are also thinking about taking a drive to the Carson Valley Inn in Minden (we heard the drive over Hwy 207 Kingsbury Grade is only about 10 miles from Tahoe), we've never been there either.

Thanks again!
PEB

Peb, I much prefer Harrahs rooms to Harveys. We do stay at both properties though.

The drive to the Carson Valley Inn is closer to 20 miles and will take about 30 minutes. Great views as you descend down to the Carson Valley. I was there earlier this month. They have remodeled the place, and you will find it is really a locals place. They have some dining specials, but really not a lot to get a person to make a special trip.

Harrah's vs. Harvey's? Well, the prices at Harrah's seem to be higher, so there is a perceived better value there. Harrah's rooms (at least everyone I have stayed in) have two bathrooms. The views were better in all of my Harvey's rooms. Actually, both places are pretty nice and I would not say one is much better than another. I am not a picky person at all, so maybe go with Steve's recommendation.

20 years since you have been there? Wow, where have you been? You will see a lot of changes at the south shore casinos.
